Beautiful! You got some big skies there, pal. Very nice. Dwc
in reply to: Target launcher #57177I enjoyed that video except for the part where he was looking right down the barrel at that monkey. Hope he had the safety on! Dwc
in reply to: What ya got goin? #57156That’s a beauty! Thanks, dwc
in reply to: Takedown longbow recommendations please #49738So Redd, you’re not getting a lot of helpful answers here… I always recommend Leon Stewart for a bow. I don’t have a take-down, but I’m really happy with my longbow. Leon is a great guy and has been building bows for 25 years now. He’s worth a look to be sure. See the link below. Good luck, dwc
in reply to: Target launcher #49244John, I was looking on youtube for a video I saw a while back. The guy had it set up so shoot solo. One arrow trigger the release mechanism which gave him a few seconds to string another arrow for the aerial target. Neat, simple contraption, but I don’t see it now. If I find it, I’ll link it. best, dwc
Ps. okay, found it…. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOEclNWMXDA
in reply to: Takedown longbow recommendations please #32419There’s a great Vermont postcard called DUI in Deer Season with a guy with a buck on his back peddling his way through a snow storm. dwc
in reply to: Arrows High #32411No, I’m not and I can vouch that my arrows were straight when they left the bow. What they did from there on is a mystery.. dwc
in reply to: Arrows High #31626Dang if I know. I do plan to shoot it a little more in the daylight. It was getting close to dark when I shot it the first time, which is often when I shoot my longbow. I’m still doing my almost daily blank bale work with the longbow before sunup. With the recurve I tried some high wrist and medium wrist grip and had the same result. Fun stuff. Best, dwc
in reply to: Arrows High #29393Hi Steve, I don’t use a sight picture except for shots at about 35 yards or so… fun shots. I’m a one bow guy, but thought I’d pull this one off the rack for fun. Shooting it the same way as my longbow, I was surprised to see it go so high at such a short distance. Might just be back to moth balls! Thanks, dwc
in reply to: Arrows for young person #16549Those kids arrows from 3Rivers are great. They are very long, too, so if you break one, there’s room to put on a new point. Also, I got Warrior Carbon Shafts and made arrows for my wife’s Bodnink Little Stick, which I think is 25 or 30# and they work really well.
Have fun, dwc
in reply to: What wax do you use on your longbow #55708A friend uses deer tallow on his selfbow for waterproofing. Dwc

in reply to: What ya got goin? #21932That’s a common image that I generally share. I’m always a little surprised when I’m in NW NJ how nice it is. As a kid, New Jersey for me was a trip down the Black Horse pike to my Grandma’s house smelling refineries along the way. Sadly, NJ is a lot of what folks think it is, and a bunch of beauty too. I won’t even start on what this Easterner’s idea of Texas is!! Ha! Sleep well John Wayne.
in reply to: Your most memorable misses…. #20630Something like, I’ll tell you about my miss but you have to paint the fence for me…
in reply to: What ya got goin? #15690Ha! Actually, the view from our cactus you don’t see any city. Northwest New Jersey is really beautiful. dwc
