I enjoyed that video except for the part where he was looking right down the barrel at that monkey. Hope he had the safety on! Dwc

So Redd, you’re not getting a lot of helpful answers here… I always recommend Leon Stewart for a bow. I don’t have a take-down, but I’m really happy with my longbow. Leon is a great guy and has been building bows for 25 years now. He’s worth a look to be sure. See the link below. Good luck, dwc

John, I was looking on youtube for a video I saw a while back. The guy had it set up so shoot solo. One arrow trigger the release mechanism which gave him a few seconds to string another arrow for the aerial target. Neat, simple contraption, but I don’t see it now. If I find it, I’ll link it. best, dwc

              Ps. okay, found it…. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOEclNWMXDA

There’s a great Vermont postcard called DUI in Deer Season with a guy with a buck on his back peddling his way through a snow storm. dwc

No, I’m not and I can vouch that my arrows were straight when they left the bow. What they did from there on is a mystery.. dwc

Dang if I know. I do plan to shoot it a little more in the daylight. It was getting close to dark when I shot it the first time, which is often when I shoot my longbow. I’m still doing my almost daily blank bale work with the longbow before sunup. With the recurve I tried some high wrist and medium wrist grip and had the same result. Fun stuff. Best, dwc

Hi Steve, I don’t use a sight picture except for shots at about 35 yards or so… fun shots. I’m a one bow guy, but thought I’d pull this one off the rack for fun. Shooting it the same way as my longbow, I was surprised to see it go so high at such a short distance. Might just be back to moth balls! Thanks, dwc

Those kids arrows from 3Rivers are great. They are very long, too, so if you break one, there’s room to put on a new point. Also, I got Warrior Carbon Shafts and made arrows for my wife’s Bodnink Little Stick, which I think is 25 or 30# and they work really well.

                        Have fun, dwc

That’s a common image that I generally share. I’m always a little surprised when I’m in NW NJ how nice it is. As a kid, New Jersey for me was a trip down the Black Horse pike to my Grandma’s house smelling refineries along the way. Sadly, NJ is a lot of what folks think it is, and a bunch of beauty too. I won’t even start on what this Easterner’s idea of Texas is!! Ha! Sleep well John Wayne.

Something like, I’ll tell you about my miss but you have to paint the fence for me…
