That mag has been around for a long time. I was surprised to see an interview of a hunter there as it’s a far cry from hook and bullet, which of course is why David Petersen was the subject. I haven’t read the mag for some time but it always seemed to have quality content and was a place beginners could get published. Howdy across the hedge row! Dwc

Neat, thanks. I was just curios. I’m shooting the same spine and length arrow with another 125 up front as I’m drawing about 45#. I bet those zip right along. best, dwc

          Hi Stadig,

Welcome to the site. In case you don’t hear from anyone directly, start looking for a shoot in your neck of the woods. There’s always a lot of guys willing to help out.

By reading the threads on this site you’ll learn a lot. Also, another good place to learn, as well as be entertained is on http://www.twistedstave.com . One of the members here, Clay Hayes, has that terrific site and does some terrific videos.

Another good read and one of my first down this lane is this link to an interview with David Peterson in the Sun Magazine. http://thesunmagazine.org/issues/408/the_good_hunter .

All the best to you! david

Went out for my morning stumpin’ stroll this morning. Took the family to a local play last night, so I slept in a little. Still had a big beautiful moon hanging in a blue sky to greet me. Found a nice little shed and a really neat little birds nest in the top of a mossy stump. Beautiful morning! Have a great weekend everyone and happy Easter to all those celebrating. peace, dwc

Good advice from Steve. It’s amazing what tastes good when you’re really hungry. Those water filters are amazing technology. Good luck on your hunt! dwc

I can picture a couple jackrabbits dancing to that tune while your arrows are rattling off those rocks! Dwc

“The buff robe is very heavy to sleep under but very warm.” It helps to remove the buffalo from the hide…:D

This thread reminded me of when I photographed John Coates Jr., a jazz pianist who lived in mid-New Jersey and played the Deer Head Inn every Saturday night for decades. He had a whole room full of buffalo memorabilia. One time he said something about liking buffalo, American Bison, and people started giving him stuff. He had an amazing accidental collection of buffalo things from Native American made things to ash trays and lamps. Since they were gifts, he couldn’t part with them so he put them in a room dedicated to the stuff. Wonder where it all is now.

That’s a part of a very good documentary. It’s a BBC production, Frozen Planet, Episode 1 To the Ends of the Earth. Time well spent if you’re not in the woods.

I don’t see your review up on the Kutzall site yet, Steve. Another opportunity to spread the trad word!!:D

Thanks for the info. best, dwc

Likely a big waste of your time. Remember don’t wrestle with pigs:lol:

I like the variation off that, “don’t try to teach a pig to sing, it’s a waste of time and the pig just gets upset. ” anon. Dwc

Congratulations, Alex! Great looking bow. Out of ashes rises a new experience. If you want to stretch it out in Delaware Water Gap, let me know and we’ll make a plan. best, dwc
