in reply to: Bowyer's video #46291This guy has a series of about 8 videos on building a laminated bow, plus a couple music videos that are fun. One of these days I’d like to try my hand at building a bow. Need some spare time! Dwc
in reply to: Beach Bows #25905It’s the beginning of the new traditional bow. Love it. That’s actually a pretty nice looking bow. Good luck with the projects. Uncle Steve is pretty cool. dwc

in reply to: What ya got goin? #23800R2, funny you posted this today. When I walk out the door in the early a.m. I take a shot at a bale that I have at the bottom of the hill. Usually a 15-20 yard shot. It’s a good drill and I’ve become pretty good at it. Today, it was definitely a gut shot bale! That’s a wake-up. Thanks, dwc
in reply to: String Silencers #15416R2, that’s a cute kid but it couldn’t have been you…. No tatts!
in reply to: String Silencers #14049R2, was that a family picnic?
in reply to: String Silencers #12204For myself, I appreciate the information. I fell off the turnip truck a long time ago, but I still have a lot to learn. There are plenty of times that a solution is right in front of me and in retrospect it seems very simple. I tip or reminder is greatly appreciated when I can’t see something when my nose is in the way.
Thanks, dwc
in reply to: I have a dilemma #61340Grumps, I’m with the rest here. Big thumbs up on giving him the thumbs down. There are opportunities for us all within our own abilities. I’d need a jet pack to summit Everest. Doesn’t mean I should. Dwc
in reply to: String Silencers #56333Nothing like throwing some science in before finishing my first cup of coffee! I like this post. I tried the heterodyning technique and have to say I didn’t notice anything worth the effort. For me, when my form is better the bow is quieter, but that’s another issue from the one presented here.
Steve, thanks for this post, especially the arrow tuning aspect along with the sound tuning part.
Best, dwc
in reply to: What Motivates You #27811[quote=R2]Over a ridge to see what’s there.
Ahhh! Breathe in the air.
On a boulder to sit.
Ha! What a view from it!
A stone to skip across a pond,
An arrow to loose,
That,just for fun.
The life I love when all is done
And comes my time to be alone.. R2
So grateful I am that nature gave me a chance to share with her.[/quote
R2, that’s beautiful. Thanks for posting it. Peace, dwc
in reply to: What Motivates You #27799We’re having our first hot and humid spell since February. Two days ago I made an attempt to be the first one to complain about the heat. I was in heaven with the 40 degree days, overcast with a breeze, listening to the birds and toads. I always adapt, but have to go through an uncomfortable period of adjustment. Nothing like getting up at 5 am and deciding to wear a flannel shirt for a walk. Ahhhh.
