        Carbini,
I saw your pics on the website gallery. Great job! Do you hunt from horseback to find the hogs?

          Steve,
I’m sorry to hear of your situation. It is often when we think things can’t get worse that we find strength we did not know we had. This further strengthens my belief that God is with us always. A friend who recently faced prostate cancer and removal surgery told me that if God can lead you to it He will lead you through it and I know it is true. God bless you and your family.

            George,
That’s a real beauty. I’ll say it cleaned up great. Can’t see a thing wrong with it. Wish I could find a left hand one like that!

Higher brace height. 8 – 10 inches and make sure your wrist is straight, aligned with your index finger. Try holding your bow with just the thumb and index finger. This will minimize torque in the bow hand. And as the others said opening up your stance a litle.

I always peel the bark to minimize the risk of beetles getting into the wood. Make sure the stave is a couple of inches longer than your intended bow length. The stave will check on the ends. In an attic? I’d say 30-60 days. You could leave it for 30 days and then rough it out. If there is any moisture you will feel it in the wood. Put it back up there for another 30 days. Of course, longer is better. My best bows that have taken the least amount of set were made from staves dried for more than a year, but I fully understand you wanting to have a bow built and broken in by hunting season. So you could start one as suggested above if you need one now. Keep on makin’ shavings!

I guess you could say -“(insert weapon here)don’t kill people. People kill people.”

                        What Hiram said.

We can only hope that one day some of the xbow crowd will slow down enough to notice the emptiness in their ways and wish for something more from hunting. As all else in this universe they too will come full circle. After all many of us have laid down our wheel bows and returned to the stick and string because we knew it was better. Their problem is they don’t know it is better because they are caught in the web of commercialism and have never shot an arrow from a real bow. We don’t promote the way they do because we hate the promotion and can see what it does to them. Our way is a way of passing it down to those who want and deserve the knowledge we have. We are eager to share but not everyone wants it. Once lost, the way back to Tradition is often obscured. We don’t need to use their style of promotion but we should all help make the path to Tradition clearer to them. Like just showing up at the range and shooting well where compound users can see and being willing to talk about your rig to those interested. I beleive they will come to Traditional when they seek something more……when what they have no longer satisfies them.

Had not given much thought to what possibly might be my last meal but I’m certain it would not be dog food if I’m still in control! LOL!

Lot’s of folks go after Tundra Swan here in NC with traditional and non-traditionl archery tackle and are successful. All you need is a duck stamp, NC hunting lisence, and swan tag. Since crop depredation is a problem you might not have much trouble finding a place to hunt. There are also guide services in eastern NC that will take you where the swans are.

The classifieds is a great way to buy, sell or trade. I recently sold my Nirk Rebel through the Tadbow classifieds.

                                Hi Steve,
I spray painted some cedar shafts camo several years ago. The flat paint had a rough surface when dry which had to be taken down slightly with steel wool. Then I polished them with bees wax so they would slide silently across my rest. Just don’t buff to a high shine. I have one left and the paint is still good.

I love the banana cut. Had some orange and some red barred that I used for years. I just got a chopper this winter but I wish I had got the low cut chopper. The high cut does make some noise.
