I have My own Chrono also. My 31% arrow [730gr]is running 159fps out of a 56lb@27″draw shrew. What interests me is that at Tradbow Yardages[-25yds]that widespread of FPS,and what a lot of people would consider slow does not effect [Practical]Traj and you have a lot of momentum in the “Airhammer”!

Thanks — Very interesting ! I am shooting a 31 % arrow and my drop at Yardages shown is similiar to your 33% [and 40% apparently]. I found my PBR { point blank range – at my avg accuracy level} to be just under 25yds [22 for small WT]56 -60lb Bows.
You need to get a Big Pig now! — head to TX! haha

Very interesting —-
The old saw — “heavier arrows use more of the bows power” [ or words to that effect -haha]
seems to be occurring–cool –at least at Tradbow range
I like as much penetration as I can get.

I use the 225TH now, saw that Joe had come out with a 300gr —
Have not had a chance to purchase/workup any Hunting arrows with it.
Have you shot “AirHammer” enuff yet at varying distances to note If? when the drop becomes significant? ie – need to get closer than 20+- yards ————

in reply to: york cadet recurve #47043I personally have no Knowledge of this Bow — but I googled up York Archery and there is some Info. Apparently out of Independence Mo — went under in the 70’s.

I understand, and with TradBow folks it shouldn’t be a problem. Sounds like you have thought about it in depth.
Good luck!

sounds pretty good — especially for folks who have little experience hunting Elk/The West. Will you be hunting RM or Roosevelt Elk?
On expenses – I would charge a flat fee to all [ you probably already know the basic amount from hunts past] or at end of hunt, tally all expenses and everyone pays an equal share.
It Is surprising how many people will freeload / or complain that someone else didn’t pay as much etc. This has happened to me with “friends” Imagine what could occur –with people you just met.IMHO—

in reply to: How Many Over 55 #38295SteveMcD –
I am 58 — I own 2 bows that are 50lbs but I do not shoot them much. One is my first, a Shakespeare Ocala. I also have a Bear Super Kodiak 65lb at the other end.
The bows I shoot the most are in the 54lb -60lb. I do not [ as yet] have any physical problems that would cause me difficulty with this poundage. I prefer this range – to give enuff { to suit me} power to the heavier arrows I prefer. My 2 current “pursuit bows” depending on the hunting situation–are a 54″56lb Shrew Samurai[ take down] and a Centaur 56″60lb r/d bow.

Roger that, I am tuned with “old” strings and Aluninum arrows
kinda kept the bow in it’s original{70s}format so to speak. I shoot it mostly for fun these days. It is not currently one of my “pursuit” bows —–might have to break it out and take it back to the woods.

I have an early 70’s 60# Kmag – it seems to prefer a brace height of 8 1/4″ from deepest part of the grip[I have seen recomendations from 7 1/2 to 8 1/2 – with most people ending up in 8-8 1/2] I draw 27″.
