It’s been real cold here in NM. Not much Snow in the mts. If we don’t get a lot more it’ll be poor pickings for the game come spring…not good.

Like Steve ,I have an original hammock seat that I like a lot and use more often than in the past , since passing  the 71yr mark….

Like Richard ,I have different day packs for different hunts, always have e gear, but mix and match for different terrain and situations..

I always have binos , don’t use a rangefinder much ( depending) as I don’t shoot past 25 yds or so..

I use binos everywhere, even in deep woods / brush . Amazing what you see with them sometimes that the naked eye misses. Slow movement of the glass of course is key ” like molasses in wintertime”.

I was Coues deer hunting in the “CherryCows” (Chiricahua Mtns Az) some years ago. Still hunting a long a trail in a deep canyon, thick growth on the sides but I could see clearly about 75 yds up the trail. I noticed something in the trail about 35 yds ahead (I’m 20/20 with glasses on). I couldn’t quite make it out. Very very sloooowly I raise my lightweight zeiss glass ( use a Pentax forge now, great glass for a reasonable price. Both 10x) and see a bobcat’s upper head ( eye/ears) looking back at me, slowly lowering ITS head below the dip in the trail..I tried to ease up to get a shot , too late …The cat had slipped off into the deep grass and brush. Just one example ( from many) of using binos up close….

                  Richard

Wishing you good luck on the deer hunting . I have hunted the rim in the past , and know exactly what you mean about labor day weekend. I made the mistake of being there for that holiday a few years ago. Most crowded I have ever seen a Natl forest!  I think all of Phoenix showed up  !!

Hearing the same, about anti hunters buying Tags here in NM (from good sources).never ending battle…

Any time you call in a coyote that close is a win.

                      Richard

That sounds more like trick shooting than hunting practice, imho. I quess it might be useful, if you were shooting at a pheasant in flight and it’s cackle on the rise spooked up a whitetail buck in range 😉

I think you should send us a video when you have that shot mastered😁

                        Richard

                        Haha

Yes silence my old friend. Glad you found him again….

Keeping em quiet is an absolutely necessity.. as much as one can.

Glad you managed to sort it out, bow quivers especially the large ones can be a problem..

                          Jar22

Glad you got an answer to your query… sorry we couldn’t be more help.

If you like the bow and you shoot it well, is all that really matters.

                          Enjoy the traditional journey…

                            Hi Jar22

                            Welcome to the forum.

I am afraid there are way too many Bowyers and Manufacturers anymore for me too even hazard a guess.

It’s a nice looking bow. How does it shoot? Maybe one of the other members will recognize it and chime in.

If you think it is local to your area , you could ask the members of any archery club near you.  Someone might recognize it…

I am that guy … at least the PA one. I think I am still in one of their medical texts..

When I first started shooting tradbow ( high school) I was self taught, and learning as I went. I was not checking my ( wooden) shafts properly ( often) enuff after missing a tgt or doing roving drills. One day not seeing the a crack In the shaft the arrow came apart on release blowing a inch long piece into my bow hand thumb. Yes it hurt like the Dickens! I didn’t scream, but expletives where declared !

My father who was with me, wrapped it up and had me police up my gear and tidy the range before heading to the ER. Luckily after a long time to heal and rehab it still works pretty normal. I switched to aluminum arrows for a long time. Eventually going back to wood , ( I also shoot Carbon) I diligently check my arrows anytime I miss the back stop now! Haha.

I personally don’t repair breaks . I would imagine if done properly repaired arrows would be OK. I like my arrows as perfect as I can make them for accuracy imho….just my preference.

Looks like the forage is excellent on your property / archery Range👍
