in reply to: DR ED ASHBY NEW BOOK #23928
Ed/Mom
Been reading the book for last couple of nights:D Lots of good tips and your rambles are entertaining. Any place in the states we can get those S. African walking shoes? I just took a pair of my barefoot running shoes–not them finger jobs just the flat soled ones and sprayed this rubber coating on them and wow great stalk this afternoon. Fox at 15 feet.
Mom–not to pick, but if all proceeds go to a charitable organization then, is there any commercialization involved?
You can order it on Amazon.
Doc—if you will send me a link to your book at- herdering@earthlink.net -I will forward to some organizations that may have a wider reach then this one. If that makes sense. If not Pm me at above e-mail.

in reply to: FOC/EFOC-Minimum? #21528Joe is right on–pick the broad head, adapter (if needed) and insert (again if needed) then build the arras around it. Troys, how to bare shaft tune says it all.
Ptaylor–to answer your question Dave said 650 minimum–try for over 700 and 750 is the best. EFOC kinda comes with that if your using carbons. Being a beginner in this stuff I just went heavy to start with. Will never go back. My blunts are 75 grains shy of my field points and broadhead set ups, but that’s because a 225 gr. blunt is all I can find. But you know what–they shoot the same.

in reply to: FOC/EFOC-Minimum? #19428Thanks for that insight Joe.
Jason next time you visit I have field points already made in various weights that you can try on your arrows. But as Troy says–you need to bare shaft tune with the weight you are gonna use. And as you know I’m shooting 750gr arrows with 33%EFOC which Dave P told me minimum he accepts for elk (arrow weight not EFOC). Someone said isn’t that a bit much for whitetail—and I reflect on Dr. Eds comment that there is no such thing as overkill on the sacred prey.
in reply to: Just funny. #19417Confucius say, lead a blind man to water and maybe he drink. Now Wojo has to find a picture of “Rooster” aka Genghis riding a horse with a bow. Guarantee that’s a poster/t-shirt I will buy.
Wose-good find–Wojo is way to young to remember that one.8)
As I and many have said—I love this site and you all rock.

in reply to: Just funny. #19249Don’t think Ishi was a horse person. My vote is Genghis Kha Khan, Emperor of all men (gee I love that title) he was definitely a horsemen armed with a bow. Plenty of pictures (of course no cameras then so you can pick and choose) on the web. Hey this could turn into a great T-shirt. Go for it Wojo:D.
in reply to: Just funny. #18815Actually Geronimo used a rifle to confound 25% of the entire army for over 2 decades, as did his less then 100 warriors.

Great pics. I find that the tuff heads retain the same edge.
Watched the final cut of Dave’s movie about a month ago—didn’t want to make you contributors out there pine, but as Alex said it will be worth the wait. From Dave, should be in the mail soonest. Still no word on when it can be released for open sales.
