As Winston Churchill said “He (Chamberlain)will do poorly in history, as I will write the history”.

I think “counting coup” a much more trad way of waging war:D

Linda wants to know if you fell on your face:lol:.

Grasshopper, I have learned when the ladies invite you to do something be prepared to have your butt kicked or embarrassed. Or learn something–which we can never admit:shock:.

Watch out for those MI knife and gun shows.

Fallguy- great ? but I figured that for an answer. Any ideas how we convince the better half that $100 for a water bottle is required:roll: Already using Smith hammers name for other need to have stuff and after she watched Clays movie last night she thinks he is great because he does it with that low cost primitive stuff.

            What an enjoyable dilemma:P:D

Forgot to mention–perhaps this discussion should be in the campfire forum.

What a great discussion. Have to agree that when the “club” caves in to non-trad ethics the slippery slope is there.

We were pleased to receive yesterday Clay’s film “the untamed”. Other then being way to short–it clearly pronounces this groups ethic’s during the hunt. I’m sure Dave’s “The Good Hunt” will follow. Seems to me, we as a tribe should do a better job of getting that word out. But alas it don’t make a lot of money for the techno firms. I have found that trying to educate those already under the spell of easier is better, almost impossible. You keep trying at the local level and get used to a lot of disappointment.

Check out that link that Dave posted—what a bunch of pseudo science. I spent many years in the sensing, detecting, identifying and shooting business–trust me on this–if an animal of any species detects your EM emissions you are close enough to kill it with a knife. But I just love it when they make a reference to “some” Navy seal training–if they only knew.

Stand for something or stand for nothing—well said.

I’m still laughing–what a great evening. When the inevitable happens try:

Pointing at the fire pit and say start the fire (without your son’s assistance).

Of course the 12bore cradled in your arms may help.

Good luck, but I think you and the Mrs. have already inculcated appropriate values in the young ones. Now you just have to sit back and wait.:D

Good choice carbons are so adaptable. Call 3rivers archery and talk to the experts. My favorite is Dave Echterling well he is a Marine:D.

Or wait here for a few days for our experts to respond–they are likely hanging around campfires now and drinking tea:shock:

And in the spirit of disclosure the second link has a video of the founder John McDaniel Lt Col USA (ret). Army ranger who served with me on many occasions. Even though he is a wheel bow guy, good man, great organization.

Neat call sign we can’t wait for the story. Welcome aboard! You will get more info then your credit card can handle:D.

As a start (being a beginner also) I would recommend T.J.Conrad, The Trad Bowhunter’s Handbook. Then decide arrows,wood-aluminum-carbon.

Enjoy the journey the fun is about to start.

Darn it. That would have been doable–but that weekend already scheduled. Then I found it on the home page.

I guess some of us newbies don’t have a sense of all that is out there. Or know where to search for that info.

Mom–for us ill-informed do you think it would be possible or desirable to post the big rendezvous on this forum as a separate heading with schedule for a few months out for planning.

Shucks I’m gonna miss that hug.:D
