in reply to: WHATS EVERYONE SHOOTING? #20545
Jerry Barr “Lobo” second one he ever made. He is from Whitewater Colorado. Called him on the phone after a fiend of mine named “Shanks” turned me onto stickbows. I said “Jerry I can’t find you where are you?” His response “I am standing in my shop”. My first and only bow. Shoots 60@28″ he fit me to that bow really well, they hit where I look8)
in reply to: Going to switch to 4 fletch #638152″ fletching is really tiny 😯
When i get home from work, most days I shoot 6-12 arrows and thats about it. My spouse usually asks how I shot knowing that for the next half hour if I had shot poorly I may be in a sour mood, or not.
When I tell my spouse I am changing my setup up, my black Lab covers her own ears with her paws to overcome my wives shrieking:wink:in reply to: Bear after he is down #61732I could leave some un iodized salt in my rig of course for when I return. I would imagine put it on thicker than molasses when/if I get so fortunate to use some ??8)
in reply to: FACEPAINTERS ONLY #61446Never have seen the product on the shelves of hunting equipment stores, that I recall. I use the mirrored case of camo cream that was shown in the video. My anchor “points” are just one of the reasons I dislike masks. I would still need to carry the previous case unless I get a great “survival” signal mirror for application purposes. Do you purchase the product via the internet?8)
in reply to: Bear after he is down #61436Gents-
Do I need to do either the salt or pepper? Assuming everything went well, I could have the hide at the taxidermist after being inspected by DOW easily within 30 hours after he is on the ground.8)I have the Kifau as well as one other previously stated. I have the Siwash. I and my hunting partner backpack in about 3 miles and hunt back from there. The pack is w/me 24/7 while in the backcountry. My pack gives me tremendous back support for the hardware I had installed surgically near my spine. I had to put a couple snaps on the pack for personnel preferrances and I purchased a large 0.25 pound mesh bag to carry my gear out with Strapped to the outside of the pack when I take out the meat on my first trip . The pack does not have the many pockets like most packs, which I am totally use to now. I just wanted a pack to carry big loads and me not feel the after effects.8)
in reply to: For those of you that hunt with wood arrows #60479I myself must be so darn lucky. I have been shooting Trad gear for only 5 years and in that time have only had maybe 2 arrows that were poor when purchased either finished or not finished. I buy from Valley Traditional Supply he just goes over where he stores them and grabs a bundle of 65-70 and hands them over. So its not like he saves me the “good uns” though he should 8)
