in reply to: Gun Season with a Bow? #52801
I hunt with bow and rifle in Manitobas rifle season. It runs in mid November for three weeks which is during the full of the rut. Where I live we can use bow or gun but have to apply by the regs. for rifle. If it nice out I take my bow. If it is really cold I take my rifle. the exception would be inside my double bull blind with a heater. I used this system last year in an ice storm that we had and it worked very well. When in a tree stand I take my Blaze orange off and hang it from a branch. Around Killarney there is very little hunting pressure in any season.

From Bruce and Pat Turner in Killarney Manitoba.in reply to: Tell Us About Your Username #14129Thanks Bert. I have a 58# Fox recurve that I’ve had for awhile. At present I’m using a compound, sad to say.javascript:addSmiley(‘’); I want to be ready for next season with a recurve. I live in Southwestern Manitoba and I enjoy hunting whitetails and elk.
in reply to: Tell Us About Your Username #14098My first name is Bruce. So this is a shortened version. This is the first time I’ve joined a group or forum like this.I’m enjoying and learning a lot. Not very good with computers but my sweetheart of 36 years helps a lot. Lots of good people that seem very willing to help others!

I’ve been shooting bows for about 30 years, and I seem to always have to battle it and, right now, it is DRIVING ME CRAZY. I would describe it as a form of anxiety when my aim nears the target. Any others here have to deal with this? If so, how in the hell do you get rid of it?!!!!:evil:

I meant 12 to 18 inches not feet. Sorry.
I’m the new kid on the block. 57 year young. I’ve dealt with the same issue for years to the point where I went back to a compound with sights. I’ve been reborn and have devised a system where I pick a spot 12′ – 18′ below my target, come to FULL draw on this spot, complete with back tension and everything as it should be and move up slowly to where I want the arrow to hit. When my eye finds the target I release.Works for me and I hope it works for you!!
