Nice work…don’t worry about 20 yards. Just get to within 10 yards of the pigs!
in reply to: Looking to relocate: AR or MO–Any help? #13567Doc,
You don’t have to abandoned PA…just move west. I worked in Chester Co. for a while so I feel your pain. I live in Western PA it is much better with a lot more public hunting and friendly farmers. Northern part of the state is not bad from what I hear. Good luck on your hunt.

in reply to: 2013 hunting rigs #8644It is 50# at 28 inches and a delight to shoot. The quiver is a EFA Mesa. Coffee is a hell of an artist!

Not all are offended. I have killed many snakes and other critters that circumstances deemed necessary. Sometimes killing is the way. Sometimes it isn’t. Had to kill a raccoon last night at work. Part of life but I try my best to find another remedy if possible.
in reply to: Adding weight just before kickoff #57319Sorry tail feather…I have never tried either but I like the rope idea best.
in reply to: EFOC in flight #55897Really cool! Good luck at the range.
Great Horned Owl for me…I see them constantly while hunting and have always held then in high regard. Last month while working I located one off the side of the road. I turned and stopped my car and saw he was injured. I was able to cover him with my jacket and used the heavy insulated leather gloves we carry in the trunks of our cars and put him in the back of the car. I took him to a nearby animal rehab center but he only made it a few days. He had a nearly amputated wing and punctured lung. I was glad to have helped him and to see him so close was a great gift. Simply wonderful. Wish he had made it.
in reply to: Sacred Places #35442I got lucky…my first place is an old strip mine that is now turned into state game lands. That is the only good thing with strip mines, when they are done the land aint worth nothing so the state turns it into game lands. Then after 20 years the woods regrow and the game returns. I love it there.
in reply to: Otzi Exhibition #30383I find Otzi fascinating…I saw a really good documentary on him where they thawed him out and did a bunch of test. It showed what he had last eaten (Shammy and a crude bread) but also that he had heart disease! The fact that he carried a bow and is a true mountain man really makes him tops in my book (next to another old guy that runs the mountains with a bow). I would love to go to the museum but maybe it will travel to the U.S. someday.
in reply to: Hammerhead test #24148Dave,
Do you hot glue the heads on so you can take them of to sharpen? I am seriously considering doing woods this winter so I am looking forward to your tutorial on the build.
in reply to: Holy Moly! An uneven new bow. #22906I second that!
