Is it a frost free chest freezer? regular chest freezer? Upright?

Here’s a helpful hit for our newest member of the freezer club: Freezers are happiest when they are full. When the freezer is full, it will cycle less, which is good for the compressor unit. It will also hold its temperature better in case of a power outage. As you won’t likely fill the thing up right away, you can add containers of water (not full so they don’t split when freezing). As you add food to the freezer, you can remove the containers.

Good tip plus it does not hurt to have some frozen bottles of water to sub for ice in your chest plus when they melt you can drink them.

nice job ( on all the issues) it is a rare thing to have a publication that you want to read cover to cover each and every issue such as the case with TBM.

so with a 60″ string the brace height was 8.5″. measuring the bow around the curve it comes out around 67″ measuring from the floor to the tip when un braced it is 64″ the currednt string looks ok other than the serving but it is at least 40 years old so I new string I am sure is in order. I don’t normally like buying stuff online but i think i will grab one from three rivers. thanks for all the help.

I posted a few weeks ago and appreciate all the help with string info. I mentioneed that the bow is very similar to a Ben Pearson Jett but I have been unable to identify it exactly. I know a picture would help but i am unable to post one right now. anyway I can tell where the label was on the bow and it seems to match were the ben pearson lables are on some photos i have seen but it appears that the label was in gold paint and I have not seen a Ben Pearson all fiberglass bow with a gold label. I have also checked out pictures of actionbow fiberglass recurves to see i I can tell what it is. I have two questions then.

for anyone familiar with Ben Pearson all fiberglass bows was there a model that had a gold colored label?

what other companies were manufacturing all fiberglass recurve bows in the 1960’s to early 70’s?

all very good info. i have the old tattered string and it is 60″ long. not sure on recommended brace height as I am not sure on the make. correct me if i am wrong but I understand that the brace height is measured from the back of the bow to the string? like i said in my original post I think the bow is very similar to the Jett, at least the color and design looks the same but the model info has rubbed off. I am not sure yet on the draw weight but it if I remembered it correctly it felt about the same as my 45 lb bear that I used to shoot when i was a teen. thanks for the tips on the string and suggestions on a new budget bow. I have actually been considering a samick bow so it is nice to hear them recomended.
