I use dead down wind oil spray. But after reading the variety of stuff you all use, maybe I should use butter instead. Who knows, it could also turn out to be the perfect attractant to draw them in range! 😛

“Ultimate” by Alex Bugnon – excellent –

Thank you Scout! Since you must listen to music while going to the field, :D, know that I just finished my new record, and that it will be coming out in early Spring. It is indirectly celebrating my passion for Traditional Archery and Bowhunting:
It is called “Moment Of Truth”, and I even have a short piano solo piece called “Fall”. I’ll keep you posted!

in reply to: Arrow Weight Question #15565Sorry Etter, I should have bothered to read your initial post to the end. My impatience! 😀 I thought you were talking about hunting weight. good luck with that great bow! Alex
in reply to: Arrow Weight Question #15511Good. Although 8gr per pound is minimum, 10 is the norm I think. Mine are always 11 and 1/2 to 12gr.
in reply to: Music to "fall" For #15507I personally can’t get in hunting mode with any other music other than silence
in reply to: Arrow Weight Question #15359Since your draw length is 26, then you are pulling 51-52#. time 8, that’s 416gr. It’s the minimum weight arrow BW says you should shoot. So you’re cool, I’d say.
in reply to: What's in a Name? #15354Alex Bugnon… That’s my name. I sometimes reversed it on other people recordings (CD’s), if I wanted to keep my appearance anonymous. So if you ever come across the very exotic name Xela Nongub in the back of a CD, that’s me! 😀
As far as Bugnon goes, I don’t know… French-Swiss for sure, Celtic maybe ( my village of origin sits 10 miles away from La Tene, Switzerland, the site of the some of the oldest Celtic artifacts ever found, I think.)
in reply to: Hunting footwear #13220Danner jackals are good indeed. Anything with a low heel is good. I’ve hunted with my Solomon running shoes, and my schnees outfitters, although the schnees have 0 traction and can be flat dangerous on wet steep rocky terrain. My favorite hunting shoes are my worn out Asolo Fugitive. They have a low heel, great traction, and surprisingly quiet.

I could do that. But first I need to find somebody around here who could take a look at the bow and tell me if the bow’s upper limb is warped a little/a lot and if it can be fixed. This happened, I suspect, back when I first got the bow, and was practicing a lot with it. I was holding the bow wrong, with the heel of my palm pressing the back of handle instead of slightly on the side. With repetition, it twisted the upper limb. THe same thing happened to my Yew bow, which I was shooting at the same time. Interesting, no ?

Is that the one Paul Brunner made?
Yes, Jason, it is. I will add a picture of the bow with his signature

(Edit: Sorry, I just now read that it had to be a self-made bow. I didn’t make this one, of course 🙂 )
in reply to: Yea,,, I know I'm pushing the limits #11570Hi Troy
I’m not into 3-piece bows that much, but I have to admit that I find this one gorgeous! especially the slim, two-tone riser. Very cool!
How are the limbs made exactly? From the pic, it looks like vertically-stacked wood of some kind.
