Alex… see you at Stillwater Pond! Go get the Herd Bull! 8)
You bet I’ll see you at Stillwater pond! I still remember the great time we had during 2009 late season like it was yesterday!
I will go get the herd bull….. until a nice cow comes along and gives me a shot… My hunt will be over! 😀
in reply to: Hi Everyone #9781Welcome back Steve! I’ll see you in Fahnestock!
in reply to: 2013 hunting rigs #8854Great looking setup, Brennan!! I love that 3arrows quiver! I used to have one similar that I bought from Alsaka Bowhunting co. years ago. Good luck, bruh!
in reply to: Adding weight just before kickoff #57958TF
I made two sets of arrows: one using stiffest spine 340’s with 300 up front, making a 680gr arrow
Another using weaker 400’s with 250 upfront and lightest 3gr per inch tubes, making also a 680gr!( I didn’t plan that, it just happened to come out the same weight! :D)
I didn’t notice any spine difference, and they hit just as hard as the others.
Ps: when using tubes, make sure you squeeze the tubes with pliers every 4-5″ so that the tubes fit really snugly inside the shaft.
in reply to: 2013 hunting rigs #57340Looking good, tailfeather!
in reply to: 2013 hunting rigs #56314Yes Jim, it is slick. My French homeboy and hunting buddy Virgil Vosse makes these. He’s also an incredibly talented bowyer!

Take a look at this backpack quiver.
I haven’t had a chance to use mine yet. It’s first class craftsmanship:

Have to say that the KME is one of the finest functional tools I have ever purchased.
Mike
Correct, it is! But I use the accusharp for kitchen knives!:)
I use the KME knife sharpener for my grizzlies and abowyers broadheads, and the angle is set at 28 degrees, so that the stone touches about 1/3 of the bevel from the sharp end.
in reply to: SBD string. Two track silencers questions! #51993The concept of that irregular placement of silencer is supposed to cancel noise causing frequencies.
You put one silencer 1/4 of the string’s length from the top limb, and the other silencer 1/3 of the string’s length from the bottom limb. All my bows have SBD’s. It made some difference on my actionboo Elkheart. My foam/carbon Shrew CH , on the other hand, hardly needs any silencing. It’s as silent as a self bow with just 1″ wide woolie whispers. Funny, because the consensus is that foam/carbon is noisier. Maybe my bow was a fluke! 😀 I like that!
Have fun in Maine! I just came back from a mini vacation in vermont’s green mountains. A bear came by the cabin all 4 nights we were there. No moose though!:(
in reply to: Tomahawk Legacy #48334I had a two-piece Diamond SS also 62″ and 57#@28! 😀
I loved that bow. Of the 6 or 7 bows I bought and sold over the last 11 years, It is the only one I wish I kept!
in reply to: Memorable Wildlife #48097I stalked noise i heard on the other side of a knoll, thinking deer were rummaging thru leaves, only to find two huge eastern timber rattlers wrestling, 10 yards away! coiled up together, standing like cobras, falling together, and starting the whole thing over again. Unbelievable!! A biologist told me he spent his career hoping and trying to see that, and here I come, just strolling the woods with my bow…
Next would be the time I had a beautiful bull Elk stopping 12 yards from me, giving me the perfect broadside shot…..that I didn’t take!
