I am not a facebook member and don’t want to be but would like very much to see these videos. Any other place to check them out on the web?

If you have not seen it yet watch the Schulz video. Lots of good tidbits in there:

Here in Connecticut the Ticks are absolutely awful:twisted: to the point where some sportsman are considering “hangin’ it up”. It seems you can’t set foot in a wooded area w/out coming out with one on you. I’ve just purchased some Coulston’s Duranon Tick Repellent on a compulsive buy because I haven’t tried it yet. Anyone use this stuff before? It says it’s only for clothing. I use Ben’s too but not sure how much of the

I’m trying to accept the little things and not get so “freaked” by them. It ain’t easy, I live with recurring symptoms of Lyme Disease but won’t give up on my time in the woods. I use Ben’s too but not sure of how much permethrin is in it.

I have a Cabela’s near me too and love to browse but don’t usually spend much it seems. Zero in the way of Trad gear which is fine by me as I really favor 3Rivers. Their customer support is second to none and products are the best available.

By the way I have read many of Dave and TJ’s books and love ’em. Well worth the money.

Decided to visit their archery range and test drive a Martin Savannah I’d seen there in 55# range. But much to my surprise they had discontinued this longbow.

I then shopped around the store to see if there was anything else to my liking, but really couldn’t find anything that caught my fancy. Needless to say,I left without buying anything….Yes, I too am spoiled by our choice of hunting. Should go through the 3Rivers’ catalogue again. I already bought a book by Dave and TJ with some of the money. Good investments!

Great to read through this thread. I am on my way (God Willing) to Alaska for an unguided 10 day float / Fly Fishing Trip in August. The people I will be with carry a 12 gauge of some sort. I’ve been thinking I should have my own side arm just in case. Then, I am aware of the success of Pepper Bear Spray. Still kind of torn on what to bring.

Thanks to all those that have replied.

in reply to: Merino wool pants #37211

Just my 2¢ but agree with msmithy, King of The Mountain Wool gets a firm nod from me. Way way:? too expensive and God knows I wish we could get’em down on their pricing:shock: but a finer Wool garment for Hunting you will not find:D. Closest would be as mentioned…Filson, but no pockets, gota have ’em. It get’s raw cold here in the Northeast and often wet. Not to worry when heading out to sit with these clothes.

p.s. I am NOT a spokesman for the company nor am I on the happy side of the decimal point for income but spend the money up front for the proper gear and cold and miserable you will not be!.

Come on over to overcrowded Connecticut Dave. We have plenty. Umm, though , Ah, I have yet to get one with my bow but it doesn’t really matter. Being in the woods is a welcome respite from the chaos of this state.

I am trying to make it a habit to get on the web-site and forums on a daily basis. Lucky for me I’m my own boss and have the time should I choose. ANYWAY, I had to comment that these photos look just like spring here in Connecticut in the Lower Connecticut river basin. Eagles flying, Herons, Egrets, and I’m always happy to see the return of the Turtles.:D

In case you read this Mr. Peterson, I’m on my third book of yours. Just fantastic reads, I love ’em.
