Ben I loved your post – the priceless gifts that we get for free if we just have eyes to see…

My personal range is defined as such: I run a 100yard sprint (for buck fever heart rate), stop and shoot 1 arrow. I retrieve the arrow. I repeat the whole thing 2X. the 3 arrows have to hit the target perfect. I increase the distance every 3 arrows. if my last good group is at let’s say 40 yards, my hunting range is half that, at 20. This season it was 45 yards, so I made my range ballpark 22, given +2 -2 according to situation. Very “rainman” isn’t it? 😀
Have fun!!
Alex
Respect Alex! Reminds me of a Brian Sorrels tip of doing star jumps or push-ups before your training shots to simulate buck fever. It’s in his trad archery book for anyone interested.

in reply to: 23 Days Left!! #22703Sounds like it’s going to be an awesome hunt Etter. Enjoy it, stay safe and report back to us – with pics if possible. It’s tales like this that keep me motivated to make a “dream hunt” in the future. May the trail rise to meet you.
in reply to: New Robertson on the Way… #22665Oh man, serious case of bow lust coming on. Need pics once she arrives – nothing like a bit of bow porn 😳 😀

Paleo, there have been some outstanding finds here over the years. Probably the most famous being the Ardagh Chalice found in a field:
But this country has been occupied and agriculturalised so long that unless you’re digging deep there’s very little to be found on the surface 🙁
in reply to: DVD ideas??? #17142Thanks for the suggestions guys. I’m not ruling out instructional dvds but I’d like them to have an outdoors slant with plenty of panorama if you know what I mean. What about the traditional adventures series or stickbow close series? Or vision quest? Anyone seen these?
