in reply to: What ya got goin? #20022
Hey Ralph I hope you’ve bagged one of those gobblers since. I was “standing” for my first godchild over the weekend, proud moment! And guess what, it didn’t rain! In fact 20C and sunny here lately, spring has finally sprung 😀 Been crazy busy with work lately so haven’t been on here much so I’m slow on the replies these days.
in reply to: Does this sowbelly make me look old? #20016Oh man I love it, such a cool vintage vibe off her. Enjoy!!!
in reply to: Stout Posts #20012And I thought this was gonna be a post about my favourite beverage 🙁 But I do enjoy George’s videos too 😀
in reply to: Coaching app #19990Couldn’t find it in Google Play???
in reply to: Fletching color #12173Yellow and orange as my profile pick shows. But I can’t help but wonder if “unnatural” colours work better such as pink, Fred Eischler’s preferred colour I notice.
in reply to: I just bought my first longbow. #12161Hey Jim looks like your bow went walkabout 😀 Maybe you can get some bush tucker tips off it 😛 I was admiring those Barta bows in 3Rivers catalogue, sweet. Enjoy it and let us know how it goes.
in reply to: Had the day off #36717Nice shooting Prowler. Wood pigeons make great eating over here. Nice fat birds that eat vegetation and grain. I generally just take the breasts and roast or casserole, etc. Nice gamey flavour somewhat like a poor man’s pheasant. But they might be a little different from your pigeons.
in reply to: Favorite Traditional Web Searches #36705Check out bearpawblog on youtube. Henry and the crew have a series of “feel the spirit” field archery videos. Beautiful scenery, cool music and some pretty nifty shooting here
in reply to: Elkheart arrived! #36682What a beauty, hope it brings you mucho mojo brennan 😀
in reply to: April/May 2013 TBM #35031And as I mentioned in another thread, the higher definition pdf is great. Thanks to all involved 😀
in reply to: Target Panic #31727Never had it, so major pinch of salt needed here, but I’m with Jim in that I think a lot of issues arise from not drawing with the back muscles. I’m a self-taught shooter but was lucky that the first book I got was by an Olympic dude that drilled form, form, form, which is built on your back muscles and then everything else in shooting is gravy!
in reply to: Wonderful News! #31718Congrats and best wishes, hope everything goes smoothly for you and your new family.
in reply to: Apr/May TBM ? #24323By the way, Robin, TJ & Co, I love the new higher resolution pdf of this issue. It’s a nice development especially for those of us who only have a digital subscription. Clearer text and razor sharp images of my favourite magazine – who could argue with that 😀
in reply to: Apr/May TBM ? #24218Arne, the editor’s email is listed beside the editor’s note on page 6 of the Apr/May issue – not sure if TJ want’s it posted here so I’ll PM you.
in reply to: Our X-gun friends and bowhunting's public image #24212Paleo and Ralph, you’re probably right. But I think the urbanisation of our population is having two effects on our relationship with animals – we’re humanising pets and yet totally detached from meat production. I think this has the effect of creating crazy peta types and over the top animal welfare activists (including anti-hunters) on one hand and unfeeling cruel thugs on the other that will microwave cats, put x-gun darts in puppies and decapitate dogs as illustrated above.
