in reply to: Left Wing, Right Wing,,,no difference #37517
Oh FYI as long as all 3 feathers were left wing fletched with Rt clamp they did fly great! However I did fletch one arrow and wasn’t paying attention and ended up with an arrow with 2 lefts and one right wing now that one did not fly worth a crap!

in reply to: Just like a bad penny… #7989Glad to see your back on the forum, been keeping up with you on FB, hope things are working out! Weather up here in has been sunny but nothing above maybe 32 degrees and cold as hell in the morning! Only can get better get that No Mist out and start shooting some woodies that will get you going!
in reply to: How do you find your arrows? #60112I lose one arrow a year that I never seem to find not matter how hard I look! my neighbor has a 16 target 3D range at his house last year at this time I hit a deer target low and the arrow skipped on the frozen ground we have looked around never found that arrow but found 2 others that were lost on the same target go figure, however they were not my arrows! LOL this year I was shooting a foam block target in my driveway, I have large snow plow piles behind the target, I was shooting a new batch of Doug fir arrows I had just done up, one was a little squirrely ricoched off the side of the target & into the snow bank, snow has been melting and I still cannot find the arrow, 2 bright chartruese feathers on the arrow no less! I chalk up both losses to the arrow gnomes!

Two for me, one for Tyler. 😀
Sounds like us and Bama’s!in reply to: Kalamazoo Traditional Bowhunters Expo #55982Another Northern Mist how many is that now! We shot some Great Northern bows and was real impressed with the Holm longbows, Nick was hot on a 62 in 47lb Osprey model!
in reply to: Straight ends vs reflex/deflex #51997I own three straight limbed longbows and am going to shoot some R/D longbows at K-zoo this weekend! I have shot a a predator longbow that was Reflex/Deflex and found it to be a little more like a recurve bow this one had a more of a pistol type grip! LimbLover has a new R/D Bama Expediton longbow that I will soon get to try out! He may have an opine on the matter as he has 2 straight limbed Bama longbows also!
in reply to: short longbow recommendation #44095Never shot a Striker but a guy at Compton shot with us last year and he had one, looked like a real nice bow! Bama bows just came out with a 58 inch Reflex/Deflex longbow bow check LimbLovers post here, he has pics of it!
in reply to: Arrow building #41859I have one longbow that is 54lbs, I draw almost 30, the GTs sound like a good bet! I shoot CX Heritage 250s and have shot some 350s with mine and have had good results! I use a 175 point or a 50 grn insert and 125 & 145 points up front! You will have to do some bare shaft tuning to see what works for you! If you cut those 5575s they will stiffen some! Good luck
in reply to: Arrow building #41066Spine is real critical especially with carbons, cutting carbons will also effect the spine ! what pound bow and draw length are you? As to cock feathers, the carbons usually have turnable nocks, they are not fixed like a wood arrow would be!
