Nice Job!!
in reply to: My newest set of woods #57748Not trying to hijack your thread LimbLover, but I wanted to comment on what Dave said “Carbon is utility,,,Wood is art” Well said,,,I love it!
in reply to: Good arrows that won't break the bank? #57742Just re-read your post…you’re going to need a lot heavier arrow than I’m using.
in reply to: Good arrows that won't break the bank? #57739Howdy, I shoot a Bama Elite 54# @ 28″, using Carbon Express Heritage 150’s w/145gr. tips, 5″ left wing feathers set at a helical. About $90 a dozen plus fletchings and tips. You’ll find the BamaBows to very forgiving. Good luck.
in reply to: looking for fletchings #47588I’d have to say True Flight from 3Rivers. Usually get them in three days. Never had a problem with True Flight fletchings.
Good luck & shoot straight,
Kevinin reply to: A change of heart #35368Thanks for all the support. I hope you all have a successful ethical harvest.
in reply to: A change of heart #31258Thanks Rogue. My most exciting hunt was the one I missed 3 times. A high tined 8 point. Called him in all 3 times and caught a glance each time. A hunt I’ll never forget.
in reply to: A change of heart #30822Just as a side note to my original post: I have taken deer before with rifle and bow (compound) and was looking forward to taking one with a longbow for the first time. Got arrows ready, ghillie poncho tailored, a few spots scouted out, been shootin a lot of 3D,,,but as the season drew nearer I found that I could no longer suppress the feelings of compassion that had been building up. Maybe I should go anyway and not shoot when one comes within range and be satisfied knowing I could have.
in reply to: A change of heart #30572Ya know I hesitated before posting this, seeing how this is a hunting forum, cause I didn’t know how it would be received. But I had to be true to my feelings and honest with myself. It actually came with some sense of relief. Thanks guys for your support. And Chris,,,I hope one day that you will realize that the woodpecker has forgiven you.
Thanks,
Kevinin reply to: Parabolic, Shield, Banana etc etc etc #21773I just switched from 4″ parabolic to 5″ shield (Tru-Flight, two red barred hen and green barred cock). Not that I was having a flight problem, just seemed to me that the 5″ barred shield look more traditional. As far as noise,,,didn’t really notice.
in reply to: A SLOW DETERIORATION #20791Thanks Mitch, I’ll give that a try.
