in reply to: Arrows for a new old recurve #16903
Carbon arrows should work fine as long as they are spined correctly. That will depend on your draw length, but probably a 400 spine arrow would be a good place to start.

I had alite practice with my 50# rebel today and it felt good. If you stick with their wood bows, you’ll get a quality product. As the saying goes, “You get what you pay for.”:D
in reply to: Found treasure #46511Thanks everyone for the comments. I put a string on it and got to shoot with my 6.5 yr old daughter on Saturday. We were competing to see who got more bullseyes. In the end we tied. Its a nice shooter, but about 5 lbs more than I’m used to. I’ll get the hang of it.
in reply to: Is camo necessary? #9369Read this article. The hawaiian shirt part is pretty interesting. Also, as a photographer I try to think in black and white. Red usually turns out as black on black and white film. I always wondered why someone would choose black and red for a hunting jacket.
in reply to: How many bows do you have? #62064I have 4. If you don’t include my daughter’s and wife’s bows.
32# Greatree (first bow) doesn’t get used much anymore
50# Martin Rebel (shoots great under 15 yards)
45# Ben Pearson (favorite bow, shoots great 8inch groupings at 20 yrds)
35# Darton Clipper (perfect condition found at an antiques store for $30)
It’s addicting but I think I’m cut off for now. My wife keeps asking me when I’m going to sell one.
