in reply to: A different kind of repellent #27838
Never heard of it. Its in the cleaning section of the store? My worry is if you have to have it on thick enough to kill bugs, what damage can it do to you
in reply to: other bows #27443OK, this is going to sound like a sales pitch since I am selling one, but Mahaska’s. 😀
in reply to: may I come in? #27223Welcome aboard. Just remember, I know everything. At least my daughters say I act like I do:D
in reply to: Cool article on feathers #27220Very interesting article
in reply to: Homemade alcohol stoves #26039What style did you make with the juice cans? Does it have the holes around it. Those look to me to be the way to go
in reply to: Homemade alcohol stoves #23893My dislike of canisters, besides wwhat you mentioned, is that I am never sure how much fuel is left and so I am always carryinbg another canister for backup. So now I have the weight of two. I only use food that needs rehydrating, so only boil water. I thought maybe the alcohol would work, though I see your points. I also have thought about the Drioxide tablets with the little folding stove. They also have those little stoves that you add sticks to and I believe a battery keeps a little fan blowing on the fire to keep it burning hot
in reply to: short longbow recommendation #22800Now ya’ll got me interested in the Shrews. I’ve never held one. Don’t know if I just missed them when I used to go the get togethers or they weren’t there then.
in reply to: Northern Mist Longbows #22780Thanks for the input.
My problem has been that I fell in love with the Great Northern Critter Gitter and all longbows I’ve bought since just don’t please me as much. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to afford the Critter. YETin reply to: Homemade alcohol stoves #22599I’ve never hunted out there in your mountains. Would it be cold enough that a feller would have trouble getting a good burn? Like the Zen site says, they get a little finicky when cold
in reply to: Northern Mist Longbows #22596Nice looking bow and buck. So I take it you like their bows?
in reply to: Recurve – new or used? #22594Good advice.
I have a 60# Mahaska recurve I might consider selling ifn you are interested. I am only 1 1/2 hours or so from Rockford, so if you decide you are interesterd, maybe we can set up something where you can shoot itin reply to: Some Family Hunting and Scouting Pics #21426OK, now I want to see even more pics.
