I agree with most keep’em sharp and put’em where it counts. I’ve never shot multi blades before but I have trailed deer taken with them and I haven’t noticed any difference in the amount of blood on well placed shots.

        Dan,
I have never read the book. My interpretation of what you said the “master” said, would be once at full draw, “highest tension”, just let the shot happen, “let the string slip through….”, don’t force the shot, “when it is ready”. That’s my take on it. Then again I never did too well trying to understand my Aikido Master.

in reply to: Growing Antlers? #26001

I don’t know any recipes for antlers. Sure they look nice. If I had a shot opportunity at either a big buck or a doe I would drop the string on the buck. Bucks are a more wary animal in the woods and therefore more of a challenge to me. I don’t need my name in a now useless book. Those antlers grow just fine without my help.

Hunting Food plots? Corn fields? Soybeans? Not for me. Give me the big woods where it’s nearly impossible to pattern a whitetail. That’s hunting. All that other stuff is like learning the delivery schedule at your local butcher so you can get first chance at all the choice cuts.

in reply to: glove or tab? #25970

            Texasota,
I too use a glove. For me I shoot just as good/bad with either. I just find the glove more convenient. I’ve lost way too many tabs in the woods because I took it off. With a glove, I find no need to take it off while hunting to do simple tasks.

              MontanaFord,
I hear you on cost effectiveness. I have the same set of 3 Abowyer BH’s that I’ve been hunting with for several years now. I try not to shoot these at birds, rabbits ,squirrels and such. I have a mess of Grizzlies and Magnus Ones set up for those critters. They are tough enough for the job yet cheap enough that I don’t feel bad if I ruin one.

Never understood why anyone would switch to a “small game head” for hunting these critters. If I’m hunting, I have a broadhead at the end of my arrow.
