in reply to: I joined a traditional group in my state #55901
Steve, they have but one event a year, the North American Longbow Safari, but I guess you should know to… my emails go unanswered and my point here was letting people know what they get here.
Guess I should have titled this differantly, because my point was a plug for TBM.
in reply to: Am I too sensitive?LOL #55496It is a term used mainly in high fence operations, where the outfitter ie land owner will tell you to cull a certain animal. If you still watch those bowhunting shows, you will hear it all the time. A dead give away, where they are hunting.
I agree with you, that it is disrespectful to the animals.
in reply to: Our general season opens tomorrow #55351Thanks David, as you may know we also have had our archery only season and I spent many a wonderful hour in the wood already in my blind. Every time I saw deer, my heart was pounding in my chest with excitement.
Its all been good, and still have not had a bad day yet 😆
in reply to: Wensel woodsman for elk #54856David that is probably the BEST sharpener around for a single bevel with a lifetime warrenty. I’m ordering this very sharpener for some Grizzly 200 gr broadheads I’ve got coming.
in reply to: Wensel woodsman for elk #54641I have two poeple on here that I read and listen to the most… Dr Ed Ashby and Dave Petersen. I’m not saying no one else isn’t in the know, but these two gentlemen are always spot on.
in reply to: Yesterday's high country bear trip – no bears yet #53913Only bears I’ve seen this year, were in GNP or on private property. Go after you bear 8)
in reply to: Went hunting again. #51572Frank, I have not had close encounters like that but many encounters this past season. I came away thanking God for what I had seen in the woods on those days.
in reply to: New member saying hello to all. #51568Welcome aboard Matt, the addiction only grows.
in reply to: Vanilla Cover Scent tip #51475I used it in a wick dripper out away from my blind, and can’t say good or bad about it. I will keep pressing on to see what happens, as our general season opens next Saturday the 23rd as archery only closed Sunday night the 17th.
in reply to: Interesting Article in American Hunter #51312I did try using vanilla this year in a drip wick, and got no reaction from the deer at all. Never have messed with the doe in heat stuff either. But, I just don’t think there is a real love potion #9 out there for the deer.
in reply to: NO DEER, BUT THIS WAS FUN… #44479Good shot there 8)
in reply to: My best shot ever, first blood of the season!!! #44477Good shooting there, and you done real good on that one.
in reply to: Extremely Hard Season So Far! #40564Been having some what of a tough time myself. Only got to go elk hunting once, as I don’t go elk hunting alone simply because of past health issues with two mild strokes.
But things have been doing good health wise, but just like to keep it safe. We did go into an area that no motorized travel of any kind in this FS area.
I have been to picky on the whitetail, and now have been seeing less and less as the season progressed now going into our last week.
I’m hoping by switching my blind area, and a new location that looks promising on the property will produce a good trad kill for me.
