Yep, it is plenty.

Ok I got ya! Thought you were bare fingering it. My buddy has one of those “No Gloves” on his fishing rigs. My glove has groves in it,and is pretty sensitive so thats what I
like to shoot. Always like to hear options. Thanks WadeWade I was bare finger shooting, but because of how sore that finger got, I didn’t want to make it worse. So the 3 finger glove is gonna have to do. Either way, my accuracy improves 😀
in reply to: What is the right pull???? #52008I will answer, simply yes with the right broadhead and weight it should be no problem as long as your shot placement is right.
in reply to: How much broadhead weight on my setup? #51996Have you tried a heavier BH to see how they fly yet? After I get my arrows that I just ordered Easton Legacy 2020’s which are at 31.5″ I will test them with starting with a 145 gr FP, then order the FP test kit from 3Rivers to see what they will bear for weight, because I want to use the heaviest BH that I can without disrupting arrow flight.
When I was using that other uh em modern bow, they told me that a 570 gr arrow wouldn’t fly well either, but the results proved differantly. I would post a picture here of that group but it also shows a non-traditional bow in the picture, so I won’t. That was my last hurrah with that bow, and it won’t be shot by me again 😆
Now onto traditional shooting.
Your CX Heritage 250’s weigh 341 gr and your 350’s weigh 372 gr as bare shafts. What is the total weight arrow that you want to shoot?

Wow ok now; Thats the stuff we need to hear. Mess your finger up just a little. We can all learn from your mishap! Thanks I’ll keep using my glove, more pressure on the finger tips then one might think. Hope things get better.Wade
Rebstud – My bow string has a rubber slider on it, as it came with the bow that covers the serving, so that is why I could shoot without a glove or a tab. But I have been shooting so much that just over time, it wore on the tip of my finger.
I just came in from shooting with the glove on, and my fingers don’t feel any sting at all. I did have to get used to the leather on the glove, because I like to feel the string. But with more use, they really do help. I have a tab coming with my new/used longbow, and I will try it, but I do like the glove better.
in reply to: GLOVES OR TABS??? #51928I was shooting the other day with just fingers, and then I felt it… a stinging in the middel finger tip and a bit of discoloring. When I was talking with MontanaFord on the phone, he asked me how I shot.. I boldly said, “fingers”. Wel I’m now wearing a glove, and getting used to it. Although used, a new one will be bought this next week.
My momma didn’t raise no fool…. 😛
in reply to: Happy Birthday, David Petersen! #51921I’m late with it, but hope you had a happy birthday 🙄

Tom why wait, if you can finish one, they can be had for under $100.00 at http://www.woodbows.com/index.html
Well I finally posted up on that other bow makers forum board that I won’t mention here, but they do have a Traditional room over there that I will still visit.
Now its time to get out and shoot some more arrows.
in reply to: Who's going to Compton? #51744Due to milage between us, I will be there in Spirit of the Tradional Bow.
in reply to: Robin Hood #51743The real Robin Hood is on the History channel at 2pm, I hope they repeat it, and I’m going to record it on my digital cable TV recorder. To bad I won’t be able to make copies, but I’m sure they have it available to purchase.
in reply to: Technology Kills Tradition? #51534During the last several weeks, I have been shooting 99.9% instinctive with the Bear Kodiak recurve. Prior to that it was all with the modern mechanical wonder with fiber pins and a peep sight. Over time my eyes have been getting worse and my pins blured out, and the only modern help was a lense in the peep sight.
Now, lets jump up two weeks.
As of Friday the 21st, that of course all ended, as I now enjoy nothing but instinctive shooting, and can not wait for my longbow that is not a hybred.
My daughter in law and I were shooting yesterday and she watched as I nailed the bullseye in two instinctive shots with arrows touching. She asked, “Dad how did you do that?” and loved my answer. I told her that, because I decided to shoot instinctive, I have to reley on the same consistancy for each shot. I can not use sight pins any longer and so I must resort back to a very traditional way of shooting. Its simple, it works and the results are there on the target. I shoot everyday, several times during the day at the house to keep up on my traditional shooting skills.
I love LimbLovers answer, as well as Dave’s and feel the same about a “Traditional Only Season” but that would cause such a sepertist stir amoung the ranks of bowhunters across any state, that only one who owns such a large land mass could make it his rule, for those who wished to hunt there could control. I myself would thrive in a “Traditional Only” area.
Sorry if I got off track here, but I’ve come to really dislike the modern wonder bows.
in reply to: repairing carbon shafts #51430Don’t play around with damaged carbon arrows, this guy did and paid the price. I hate carbons period, as they can splinter from the front or explode in the middle.
No this is not me in this picture.
in reply to: National Archery in the Schools Program #49962When I started way back in lets see here, I was 12 yrs old and my bow that I started with was a Ben Pearson green longbow with a rubber or plastic handle that could be shot by either right or left handed shooters. No sights and tons of fun to shoot.
Dang what year was that now, I’m almost 54 😛
Dave I will get my son hooked on the passion of the traditional ways, sooner or later. But he really took a liking to that modern wheeled bow. He has seen me make groups with the Bear Kodiak that he never thought a traditional bow could do 🙄
Now lets see what he does when someday he will get one of my traditional bows, when I gagiate up to a Bama Custom Bow 😆
