in reply to: ABS Ashby Broadhead #29747
😛 just like posting those pics, not that I even own an Ashby BH, was very impressed with what I saw.
Dang I still own Zwickey’s 🙄
in reply to: ABS Ashby Broadhead #29671They should have them now, since they are making them. But after the pictures that I have, there is no question that these are the best on the market.
But my pocket book says…… NO 😛

Patrick your right, I realized that my post above got cut off, and I had failed to finish the last sentence.
in reply to: wood arrows? #27025This last week, my buddy had just one wooden arrow left over from when he had a 45# recurve, so I shot it from the Selfbow. I liked the way it flew, and well he also had some Arrow Dynamic Nitro Stingers (green) “The Tappered Shaft” feathered that were 31.5″ long that I put my 160 gr FP on. I had to try them from my 55# longbow, and let me tell you they flew like darts. Which reminds me, I have some Nitro Stinger Gold, that are unfletched or uncut 🙄
But then again, I got plenty of aluminums that are feathered and work real good, so why bother with the carbons. I would be interested in woods or bamboo arrows.
in reply to: Broadhead of choice let's hear it #26892Right now I’m pretty over run with 2 blade Zwickey Eskimo 125 gr with 25 gr and threaded adaptors. I had been wanting to try the 2 blade Eclispe 145 gr with the 25 gr adaptors, so we will see. I may just get the 75 gr threaded adaptors to kick up the weight 😛
Yep, will be ordering that one for sure, as well as some others there on the side bar of the 3Rivers site.

Well I finally found a modern day movie that I could settle down into… The Emerald Forest 1985 had a lot of longbow action during modern day times.
A father searches year after year for his lost son that was taken by one tribe. The boy is raised up in jungle life using a very traditional native longbow of the jungle.
Watched this one on Encore cable channel 529, for me this is one DVD that I want to own.
in reply to: Off to MT Youth Bowhunter Camp next week #25450I had an awesome week, and several of the kids took to the Selfbow more than the modern compounds that they were introduced to. Many of them came up to me and begged everyday to shoot the Selfbow, after I demonstrated my shooting with my Longbow. I can’t wait for the week of July 5th – 9th.
Look close and you can see the arrow flying
Getting lined up here…..
in reply to: Simmons Land Shark or Interceptor broadheads #24430Hi everyone, been a week as I have been gone to MT Youth Bowhunter Camp… another thread on that one. But my partner at the camp has simalar opinion of the land sharks as I do. He does not like a barbed BH and that is his feeling of the land sharks. The other factor was the bleeder blades, which of course you can use with or without. They just don’t seem to want to stay in place. Use what you want, ours are just opinions here.
I had thought about using them for targets, but didn’t want the broken pieces of DVD’s hiding in the grass 😆
So, I scratched them and chucked them for the plastic recycling center as I did not want to infect anyone else with bad karma.
