Nope the string stays as is.

Where did you get the waxed linen and how did you apply it? Is it glued on, stitched on, wrapped on…?

The waxed linen can be bought at any Crafters Store that sells beads etc.

Can we get some close up pictures of the grip?
      Thanks.

Lucky for you, that I took these as the camera is packed away in my bags. But here is the grip with just the black.

Thought I would say a big ol howdy, and greetings to Tyler, WTG on that target there.

My trad shooting goes back 41 yrs but was interupted back in the 90’s with compounditus disease, and had the darn thing for till March 21st of this year.

The doctor says, that I have fully recovered my senses and am free of that disease now, and back to full health 😛

I’ve just never bought one for use here in Montana, as they are not allowed during the seasons anyway. Which only leaves maybe 3 mo out of the year that they are legal to use.

So, I pass on the expense of buying one, and put that money for use for other things. Besides, it would probably just get ripped off anyways.

Now for me, it the light went back on when I was shooting compounds this last year. I saw several traditional recurve shooters come into the range. I watched them shoot intently, and the light went on inside my head.

If only I took the recurve I had at the time, and devoted everyday to shooting just that like I was my modern compound, that I would forget the modern compound shooting.

Yep, the more I shot the recurve, the instictive stride was showing with my groups, and I fell head over heels with the first love that I once had of shooting traditional that I gave up back in 1991. And it was on March 21, 2010 that I handed my son the modern compound bow to keep, and take away from my sight.

                      I haven’t looked back.

                        Patrick

The farthest I have hit a target was 30 yards, and that was this last Saturday when I had to stand on the same shooters line with the “others” shooting the wheelies. The goal was to hit a wiffle golf ball hanging 2″ off the bale in front of a Gopher target. The size of the gopher was 12″ in height. You can see a couple other arrows shot by the wheelies, that were a bit closer to the wiffle golf ball.

I hit just inches above the golf ball in the gophers head, which was not bad for only getting a 1 arrow shot. I normally practice for just hunting at 10, 15 and 20 yards.

I’m going to talk with a buddy of mine that does Reality Bowhunting TV to see if he/we can dedicate an entire filming of nothing but “The Traditional Bowhunter” I will be seeing Brodie Swisher again the week of July 5th-9th at the MT Youth Bowhunting Camp again.

                                  http://realitybowhunting.com/

He also shoots traditional, but is not dedicated to it like we are. But sometimes things can change for the better 😆
