Tom – Thank you. I had thought the BamaBows Hunter was nice and smooth, then I shot this Super Kodiak Graying…. oh what a super smooth and quiet bow this is. I realize that one is a longbow and the other a recurve, but this is by far my favored bow to shoot now.
Simply a dream to shoot.

in reply to: Fred Bear DVD Collection #58714I need to get that DVD collection myself.
Since I started this thread, I have not watched any of the junk that is put on TV for the wheelie’s, as its not my type of field hunting, its some bodies but just not mine.
in reply to: The ugliest moccasins ever! #57956Its awesome you made some, and I got to think about what kind I’m going to wear this year.

Thank you so much, my first bow stripping job. I had called Lemant at 3Rivers and he told me what to do with the acetone and a rag. Didn’t soak it in a bath like some would, as that would ruin the lamination glue for sure.
The is a 76 Grayling Super Kodiak, and does it ever still shoot well.

After finishing the strike plate and fur shelf, well I just started to remove the paint. Oh the beauty that has been hidden under this Rustolium paint.
This Super Kodiak is so nice to shoot, and the serial number begins with KL which gives it a circa of 71/72 it is also a 55# with AMO 60″ with Nickel-Silver Bear medallion.
The wood so far shows an awesome grey with blue stripe laminate with some fading in the grey. This of course can be fixed by http://www.prairietrad.com/page30.html

do you have some Scottish ancestory. As a matter of fact I do have Scottish, Irish and English ancestory that dates back to the year 1066 on the English side from Yorkshire, Northern England and the mix got in there after that. I also have ancestory of Native American from the Ohio’s with the Shawnee.
I used the south end of the badger as the opening, simply because that was the largest area to slide my existing quiver thru, but would have rather had the head of the badger up instead. But the way it is now, it goes along with just giving them old badgers the shaft 😛
in reply to: Just finished the accents on my Selfbow #51732I thought I would post up with new pics of my new woods that came in for my Selfbow.
The arrows are made of cedar and spined 45-50#, and are they ever sweet looking, and with the Zwickey Eskimo 125 gr glue on broadhead they weigh in right at 495 gr total. We thought with the 45# Selfbow, that I might use a 145 gr or 150 gr but I will see how these fly with the 125 gr BH’s on them.
Thought I would post some pics of these, as these tested so nicely, and flew like a bee straight to honey.

No its a typo now corrected , but this one is going to get sold.
in reply to: Glove of choice help !!!! #48581I also shoot with a glove by Bear. I have to agree about loosing tabs, as one kid this last week lost his in the woods some place while gopher hunting.
Lucky for him, I had an extra glove that I gave him.
