I am shooting with broadheads actually out of necessity because I have found that 175 grains flies awesome out of my bows on my arras, and I dont have 175 gr practice tips!! ha. So, therefore the past 8 weeks has just been 3 arrows broadheaded, and I can tell you that I am very comfortable with the way they fly. Now, how to re-sharpen.. (perhaps my dremmell tool?).

While practicing in the woods on my beat-up deer target I wore a path going to and from the target from various distances, the woods are thick so my trail has to serpentine
around and over all the trees and lanes to my target..I can never really get the yardage known (without some algorythm).. but anyway, in these same woods I discovered hunting chipmunks is a stalk sport, they have very good eyes, and you need to be close and or spot on. They can bust you on your draw too. they have eyes on the back of thier head for sure. but when they go behind a tree and you then ready on them, its great practice for still hunting. I found there is usually a leader chipmunk who owns about (whatever.. o.1 acres?) anyway, they have zones or sectors or something where one alpha chipmunk seems to trumpet his chirps from, while in other areas theres others. I dont know, I just thought that was kinda neeto. (alpha chipmunks..that cracks me up). chipmunks are also sneaky and quiet, requiring a decent still hunt mode.

in my opinion , and anyone please help here, It would seem like stringing and destringing, and restringing is going to cause more stresses on my bow or bow string.

I have a longbow, and am completely smitten. so light and zippy! but can be a heartbreaker, a few shots with my recurve for a reality check, and im right back with the longbow outshooting the recurve. and so our love triangle goes on, do tell when you get it all resolved.

in reply to: stringing bows #11840

I have seen people use another method than the step through method, put the bow in the inside of the right foot, pull the handle of the bow with the right hand, and push down with the left hand on the top limb. everyone who i ever saw do this, made it look smooth, and controlled.. I did it once or twice, and it freaks me out personally. please comment about this method. and also, please comment about leaving the bows (longbow and recurve) strung. is this ok? and when is it not ok.?
