Over the last year I have been working on making a riser for some recurve limbs that I picked up really cheap at a gun show. Due to the learning curve and a few imperfect fit jobs I have ended up with half a dozen extra risers. I then decided that I would try to build some limbs to fit the risers that didn’t fit the recurve limbs. I have made two of them into longbows which worked really well. I used a fiberglass cloth backing on one set of limbs and fiberglass strips like you can get at 3rivers archery for the other bow. Both worked really well although the strips looked a bit cleaner, though the cloth looked more traditional. Good luck with your project.
