Tonight on the National Geographic Channel. One of our own, Yote Robertson is representing the Woodsmen team on a program called Ultimate Survival Alaska. I have never met Yote but like many of you, am familiar with his family and his adventures through TBM. Check it out. Way to go Yote!

I think the hardest part of “surviving” for Yote is not going to be the wilderness by any means, but surviving a highly-dramatized tv circus. 😕

True that Smith…Still, I’m hoping he shines through the circus!

I just watched it down here (don’t ask me how I got it, it involved an eye patch, peg leg and sailing the seven internet seas) and it actually looked pretty darned challenging. I was very pleased to see the hard charging military team take the first leg though 😉

                        UG…

I was warming up after a day of duck hunting with my chums and we were drinking hard when that show came on the TV. My bud has a cabin on the coast and we fish/hunt from it all the time. He sprang for cable since he likes to keep up with college basketball.

Anyway, We watched the episode where they had to climb up a 4 Thousand foot hill. What an over dramatized load of crap. The hardest part of that show for them was probably keeping the camera from showing the road that went to the top.

I hope he at least makes a lot of money of that hogwash. Maybe it’s that I haven’t watched TV in 3 years and all that whiskey affected my opinion of the show, but I’m sticking to it. Can’t get any more dumbed down. Nat Geo has joined the race to the bottom. POOOOOO!!!!!

I am always amazed when they seem to pick the right place to have a camera when something exciting happens!! Btw… why didn’t the cameraman help the old guy out of the river when he capsized?? Lol!!

                            Because its REALITY! 😉

Seriously, though, I fear that once people get bored with this level of reality, it won’t be long before some channel decides to take it to the next level, a la “Hunger Games”…

Watched the show a couple times last year and was not real interested. When i read this and heard Yote was on there I have watched 2 episodes just to see Yote.

I have been using him as an example for my kids as to how the world is thiers for the taking. Yote is a perfect example of that. I never met him but thru this magazine, stories, etc I have always paid attention to anything that related to the Robertsons for the last 20 something years i’ve been a bowhunter. Yote’s accomplishments and life he lives (from what i read) is an inspiration that even in todays world a guy can take life by the horns and make it his way.

Very impressive! Now i sit here with my kids and point him out on the TV and tell my kids of his adventures and how they come about. My kids eyes get huge, the excitement stirs and its one more log on the fire in thier mind that they can do anything and eveything they want to if they try hard enough. Thanks Yote!
