It is with a heavy heart that I pass along that my college classmate and dear, dear friend, John Hilliard, was hit by a truck today, while riding his motorcycle, and killed. Though he was never a bowhunter, and never understood the love affair I had with bows and arrows, John and I hunted together many times, all over the world. He loved both bird hunting and big game hunting, and was always someone any hunter would love sharing a campfire with. In recent times it was John’s habit to call me every single day to see how I was doing and share the day’s news and events. He will be greatly missed.
As one gets older one of the hardest things is the loss of any of one’s remaining friends. Though I know only a few here on TradBow personally I think of many of you as true friends and I just wanted to share this.

Ed,Sorry for your loss.As we grow older we know and maybe are half prepared for things like this but it does not make it any easier .
It sounds like you have a lot of good memories that you shared together.Hunting and camp fires bring good friends closer and makes strangers friends. The memories will be around for a long time.

The loss of a dear friend is hard to handle. Still, one must remember friends are never forgotten and will one day be back by your side.

Very sorry to hear of your loss, Ed. As an avid rider myself, these tragic stories always weigh heavy on me.

Doc,
Thank you for sharing this with us. We are a community and while I have not met you or your friend, I feel it with you. It is exactly like the famous John Donne quote. With his loss, we are the less.
Best wishes to you and all. dwc
