We had a string of storms go through last night.  Lots of wind and some lightning.

I’m a ham radio operator and a member of the SE KS and SW MO weather watch group with the NWS so I was up late watching the radar and listnig to the radio.  The main storm was breaking up some as it came through and no spotters were activated to go out.  About 11:30 there was a nearby lightning strike followed by a sharp snap in the house so I was up looking and smelling for smoke.  I couldn’t find anything damaged but this morning about 2/3 of my weather station readout is blank.  I think it took a jolt of static.

There’s a lot of water in my yard and the wind is blowing.  The road south of my house is flooded over but that’s all.

Our weather over this way could best be described as …….. “Not right”.

And now ……. The grasshoppers have shown up in mega numbers eating all of my decorative plants.
