I saw this doe on my way to a job this morning. I drove up the road to get my gear together, then had to go a little bit into the woods to get close. There were at least two colored this way in the small herd. dwc

That piebald is cool. I’ve seen a few pictures of them before.

I’m thinking one of the guys on my lease had a pic of one a few years back.

Cool to see David, very rare methinks.

          Good picture.

Tasty too, what with all those spots to focus on 🙄

When I look at those ink blots I see steaks. D

This sounds like the setup to a Jeff Foxworthy joke, but….

Back in the early 90’s my Great Uncle made the front page of the local paper in Vienna West Virginia when he shot a pie-bald deer.

David, very interesting. Piebald deer are pretty rare but 2 in the same group is very rare. About 10 years ago I saw a piebald in the woods I was hunting near my house. About a week later my wife told me she saw a “spotted white deer” on her way to work. As luck would have it I saw the same deer in the winter archery season…. Tasted the same as any other whitetail.

I have seen two piebald deer in my life. Neat critters, but nothing compared to what came through the woods at us while I was calling moose for Lori when she drew a Montana moose tag a few years back—a true albino moose, with pink eyes and not a fleck of pigment in its coat. It looked like a thousand-pound Easter bunny. Don
