I will be useing a broadhead of my own design.. and a home made long bow with home made cedar arrows. The broadhead is made of carbon steel hand forged then sharpened to a razor edge. The head weighs 145 grains and the total arrow weight is 577 grains shot out of a 28in Draw @ 48 pound Draw weight. The arrow leaves my bow at about 183 fps.

In July, I went to MO-JAM and with help, turned a 100 year old Osage fence post into a bow. The bow is 45lb. I will be using cedar arrows with 125 gr snuffers.

I will probably use either my Howard Hill longbow or my Bear Super K. My hunting arrows are from Bob Burton at Whispering Wind Arrows.

I’ll be using the same basic setup I’ve shot for the past several years — a mid-50s weight recurve shooting 500-grain carbon arrows tipped with 125-grain Ace Standards.

I’ll be using my 70# Super Kodiak, aluminum GameGetters, & 165 grain Zwickey “No Mercies.” I just got 1 dozen of the arrows today. They are some sweet shooters.

This year, and probably for the forseeable future, I’ll be pursuing my beloved whitetails with a 51#/62″ Shafer Silvertip recurve and Carbon Express Heritage 250 shafts tipped with Stos 160-grain broadheads.

Starting out with my 50# Predator, cedar shafts with 125 gr Zwickey 2 blades. If successful with that, I may switch over to my 48# Hickory selfbow with 5/16 hickory shafts and 100 gr Zwickey 2 blades w/bleeders. Bow quivers on both bows.
