Well this just might be it!

This is my latest completed bow…Osage belly – osage spliced with Birdseye Maple on the back – Osage riser with some walnut and maple added for creative effect – Osage nock overlays.

        55# @ 28″ 62″ ntn d97 string. And I like it!

Hey Troy – that is your wood! Thanks for the awesome spliced wood. I choose to put some solid Osage on the belly so as to save the other spliced osage for a second bow of the same look. Even better than the look is the smooth shooting. This one is mine! I have had several friends ask to purchase it and I just laugh.

It won’t be long and I will be getting some more lams from you – hope you’re ready!

Ptaylor – yes you are right. With my work schedule I may go for a few weeks without being able to build but when I get a open week I get wrapped up in bow building. I love the process and I really love producing something beautiful and effect to shoot straight. I am addicted…in a good way.

Troy – I got the scarf joint so clean that you can’t see the seam on the back of the bow in the riser. I was planning on leaving it without an overlay. What do you think Would you put an overlay on and if so what would you use for wood selection. I was considering some Paduk.

                        Cameron,

The limbs are dark Birdseye maple and Osage. The accent strip in the riser is Black Locust, Black Walnut and Maple.

I think I would be temped to put on and overlay then stipple the grip. Osage and maple overlays would really make the handle section pop! Even though it’s not necessary, the bow is so hot any little add on will just ad the iceing to the cake.

Give me plenty of time when you want more lams. I’m tied up right now making several pieces of furniture for Christmas presents.

Thanks Troy – Good luck with the building projects I am sure you are making some beautiful furniture. I will probably wait until the first of the year to get some additional lams from you. I still have a few sets to build to finish out this year.
