Hi,i’m looking for some help on choosing my first bow.I am a hunter from Canada.I use a crossbow now(I know) and want to make the switch to traditional archery. Both for myself and my 3 young sons who are just starting into hunting. I am asking for advice on what I should be looking for in a new bow.I would be hunting mainly whitetail with this bow.
        Thanks for now,John

Welcome to greener pastures my friend, you wont regret the switch. Check out Chekmate bows. They are custom made in Canada. The website and rep I went thru is http://www.recurves.com
They are fine shooting bows at more reasonable prices. Good luck.

Greetings . I live in the interior of B.C . My first bow was a used Chek-Mate “Hunter 2″ recurve . 62″ long 51# @ 28” Still one of my favorites. Paid 500 bucks . Seems one of the biggest mistakes when first starting is to buy too heavy a bow . 48 or 50 pounds should be lots for what you want .
