Does it help to add weight to the shaft of the arrow?

You really need to be a bit more specific mate.
What are you trying to achieve, and with what ?

I’m shooting a 3555 gt with 125# tip out of a 52# l/b, they are flying pretty straight I just thought I would see what would happen if they were heavier.

That shaft depending on length,is only around 380-400g set up as you have it.
I shoot the same shaft cut to 29″ and with 225g up front from my 50lb recurve,,it wheighs 480g set up like that.

If you can I’d advise adding more wheight to the front of your arrow by using a 100g brass insert.
You may have to cut 1/2 an inch off the shaft to counter the weakening effect on spine from adding wheight up front,,,but in this case I think it’s a good idea because it would be easier on your bow,,a bit quieter, and give better penetration from both the increased wheight and the increased FOC.

Keep in mind this is only my opinion and although it works for me,others may have differing opinions that work just as well for them,so keep an open mind.

              Hope that helps,
              Good luck.
              John.
