i was yote hunting up the klickitat near mt. adams last weekend. im in full camo in a bush with my back on a fallin log. after a searies of calls im waiting and watching for a dog. i hear scratching on the other end of the log and slowly turn to see two weasels running at me. the first jumps and bounced off my shoulder and the second off my hat and back of my head. i slowly turn to see them run into the woods. i will never know if they saw me or just did not care. i felt very lucky and thought it was kool. some thing that does not happen every day. thank you god.

Nice one Kelly! Your camo and lack of motion seem to be working just fine 8)

Kelly — are you sure they were weasels? Or could they have been baby Bigfeet? 😀

I’ve had similar experiences with mink in coastal AK – running between my legs, jumping over me as I was laying down with my head on a log, etc. Someone once tried to explain it to me by saying that they have very poor eyesight, but that’s incorrect. They (and weasels) actually have very good eyesight. I think they are just also blessed with a healthy sense of play and mischief. 😉

                  Experiences like that are priceless.

                    Kellydockter –

                    cool with the weasels —

My experiences have been mostly chipmunks & Squirrels.

I have had Hummingbirds come and check out my fletching [ usually bright yellow/orange/white]. Sometimes it takes them awhile to sort out there is no nectar with those flowers.. Fun to watch—-

Yeah, I’d hiked in to one of the Bull Creek Reservoirs on the Grand Mesa in Co. to fish. I was doing good and decided to eat my sandwich. I spread my lunch out, made a cast, hooked a nice trout. When I turned around to do lunch there was a dang pine martin sittin’ there with a silly grin and a full belly. Must be kin to Bigfoot!I hear they like peanut butter/jelly sandwiches too!
