Do you turkey hunters wear watch covers when you’re out and about? I figure with sharp eyed game it might be worth while covering your shiny watch face. So here’s how I make my watch cover for work.

Take a green or brown dress sock and cut the last 6 inches or so off the open end. That off cut goes over your wrist like a bracelet, watch on over the top of that, then fold the sock back over the watch. Voila. Better than any store bought cover I’ve ever seen 😉

Nice tip Jim, in your line of work that could be a life saver. For me it just means pork & beans for supper.

I like it Jim. Great use for my old socks. Washed of course!

Haha, it quickly becomes one of the filthiest pieces of your field attire! But it also acts as a sweat band keeping your bow hand dry 😉

Great tip, Jim – I love simple and inexpensive solutions like this. Now if only I wore a watch…

Bruce, nor do I. The beauty of retirement. Don’t know nor care what time usually, what day particularly. One gets hungry, one gets sleepy, one gets…………and grabs his bow and goes shooting.

                  That is good idea Jim.

Walk softly and carry a good stick :D. Kinda like what Teddy R said 😆 That’s the way I hunt………

I’m sort of retired too, sort of… but I still like to wear my watch. I like to pattern myself.

When did I go for a walk yesterday? When did I work in the garden? When did I split wood? When did I take a nap? If I keep myself from doing these things at the same time every day, it keeps everyone on their toes. This way my wife doesn’t necessarily know where I am when she thinks of something for her honey-do list. And the kids don’t know when it’s safe to come out and use the computer, lest they be caught and put to work.

This is an important lesson to be learned from our sacred deer brothers.
