At Shawnee State Park, Schellsburg, Pa., took a walk with my Black Forest Longbow from Kustom King, made by Bearpaw Archery. The bow shoots great and looks good as well. The photos are near my home in Bedford County, Pa.

Hey George,
Beautiful bow and woods to walk in. Reminds me of some club land I used to hunt on. Had a creek about that size bordering it.

Hiya George! Man, I wish we had that little snow here in CO! That bow design is what I would call “streamlined and clean.” But where did I get the idea you make all your own? I had to give it up, temporarily, from lack of sufficient shop space … which was my excuse for making some pretty but usually pretty lousy bows! 😆 dave

Hey Dave, I’m guessing you have a bit of snow out there in the big mountains. If I took to making bows..(well, I did make two)..they would probably take a year each to finish, as I was born with three hands. At least that’s what my daddy told me once or twice. I have the space, I just don’t have the want-to. 8^). A few of my ancestors came from S.E. Germany, near what is not the Czech Republic, so I thought it cool that I could get a bow made in that general vicinity. It shoots like a “Stout” bow. 😆
Shoot well, George -
George, as always thanks for taking us on your walks. Very nice bow.
David, I had to comment on what you said about pretty bows that are lousy. I have made my share of bows, even take some whitetails with them, but they have never been anywhere near what a master bowyer can do. Easier to make a pretty bow than it is to make a real shooter.
Anyway, George, that Black Forest is both pretty and a shooter, thanks again..

Shot a few arrows in the back yard (woods) with it this morning. First four of the day so they aren’t perfect, but a good warm up. Gotta’ show the bad with the good 8^). Cut and paste url if it doesn’t highlight.
