I used my longbow form and some “what am I going to use these for anyway” scraps and some expired glue to make a walking stick. It came out pretty good considering how little effort or attention to detail I gave it.
Next time I’d put more effort into it. Wasn’t sure it would come out at all..
And this is my first effort to use the new attachment feature…

Steve,
Thats a first class walking stick. I have a vine wrapped hickory with that same compass in it that I made several years ago.

That sounds like work! I tried working for a living, didn’t much care for it. But I’d trade one for a signed copy of a book…But there are a lot nicer and better made walking sticks available. A quick google will prove that. -

Thanks Duncan.I have a hickory stick that my dad made for me. He carved a spirit face into the top. It’s not vine wrapped, but it is snakey. I’ve been using it for about 5 years. I leave it on the front porch (next to the ever increasing stack of debarked poplar saplings my boy brings up from the beaver pond) and this summer, some bugs decided to have it for lunch… It still seems solid, but… I think I will cut the top off with the spirit face, varnish it, and rest it somewhere. It’s surprising how many uses a person finds for a walking stick while out and about…
