I’ve read of this and recall seeing an article on it but never took the time until yesterday .

It is a very good tool in revealing form and release problems ,,,,,in my opinion .

I can pretty much maintain a consistent form BUT MY RELEASE IS PATHETIC !!!

I thought I was keeping my hand right next to my cheek upon release and now know that in fact I do not .

        Anyone been doing this ?

If you have a smart phone, apple or android, get “ubersense” (free) or Coach’s eye ($5) and video often!! If you haven’t seen my videos, they are available on the link below. You don’t necessarily want to keep your string hand on your cheek, ideally it should slide back at release.

I tried it with my digital camera.Indeed a great tool and fun to watch.I use to use a dead release and tried the touch your shoulder thing, but I never could get it to come natural. Then I discovered a guy on you tube who said to follow through by touching you ear.I picked this up very quick and it comes natural without thinking about it.

I’ve done it with both a Handycam on a tripod and an iPhone stuck anywhere I can get it to stay put. I’ve also put the iPhone atop a 3D target, to put a little more pressure on me. Having the video is a great tool for improving form, IMO. Like you, I found out things about my release that I was not aware of.

Ubersense is great for your smartphone. I’ve been using it a lot lately. I thought my bow arm was rock solid. It is not.

I use ubersense too. I think it is a great tool

There was an article in Trad Bowhunter Mag about videoing yourself and how they suggest to go about it.

Pretty good article and combined with ubersense it has really helped me

I am an ex- Football Coach and we filmed everything to help us so this was right up my alley

Didn’t realize what perfection was til I filmed me and learned quick that me it ain’t.

28″ draw, ha! Pause before release, ha! After all these years shooting I’m surprised I hit what I do. Solid bow arm. Wat dat?

Actually not that bad but you don’t wanna see:D:D.

I have greatly improved since I watched me. Nice to know what others won’t tell. Busted ego a good thing maybe.
