I know bareshaft tuning is the norm on high foc arrows. What about paper and group tuning? Just curious.

Doc Ed introduced me to Troy Breedings posting on Tuff Head for tuning high FOC arrows…way different than the ‘bare shaft planning method” I’d used for years…
I tried it. Shot a lot of arrows, but I made sure I had a NEW homogenous foam target so the arrow wouldn’t be following some old shot path in the target and skewing the nock orientation to mess me up.
Worked out fine. Apparently, Higher FOC arrows require some different tuning…I didn’t challenge the experts as to “Why” just accepted it and it didn’t fail me.
Not much help there… but figured those who got into the higher FOC should know a thing ot 2 about how to tune them…:oops::lol:8)

Dr Ed posted on another thread his method for tuning. It was the grouping method which is what I use. I have done bare shadt tuning but I can never tell what is the arrow and what is me. But Troy’s method works well for many. Try them all and see what works best for you is my advice.
