I just finished Bob Munger’s book. As usual, I’ve got that melancholy feeling I always get after one of these books. Knowing that these good folks are gone…

The book would have benefited from some editing for spelling and duplication. But other than that, I thought it was great. The one thing Bob did that others on the topic of Fred Bear did not do, was be honest about relationships and events as he saw them.

I don’t feel so bad about some of my hunting cluster f**ks anymore 😳

And I am glad to find out that Fred has some people problems too. Makes all those guys more real.

I’m at the beach with the family, and can’t wait to get back home and pull the string. Going to take the boy and do a little flounder/trout fishing today. Maybe that will help.

The non-perfect editing lends itself to real life as well Steve; I don’t mind it a bit….life doesn’t have an edit button anyway. 8^).

That book, and the Biography by Chuck Kroll were very well done as far as supplying information about Fred and his buddies. As for editing, overall it has seen it’s best hours years ago…even with so-called modern technology there are still errors. At least we know humans are still writing and editing. 8^)))))))))))))).

This book will also make you realize how much times have changed. They regularly speak of taking 50-100 yard shots with traditional equipment. I’m glad things are different now. I’m only three years in, but my window is 17-18 yards and the rest can walk peacefully.

I looked this book up online. Cheapest I have found is like $45. Is there a place to get it at a “normal” price? Be well.

              😕

I think I remember getting my copy from kustom king. I checked their website this am and the icon is indeed on the website under books. But when I clicked on it, it was no longer there. I guess it’s out of stock, or out of print. I know I didn’t pay 40 dollars for it though…

It’s a good read, I hope you can find it.

Thanks all. I looked up Amazon, and it’s only used. Cheapest is like $40-something. Most expensive is one big “Wild Turkey Federation!”. It better come with a new car or some junk. Anyway, I’ll check out some online auctions and KK, 3R, etc. Be well.
