        All,
I,m finally going to be free this winter and spring and would like to attend some of the Traditional events that are often talked about. If someone could note the dates and location of such events it would be very much appreciated! I live here in the Boise area and since our Western Expo. is now a thing of the past, I’m looking to travel to one or more of these events.

I did some research and it appears that last years Kalamzoo gathering was at the end of January and the Comptons and Cloverdale were held in June. I have not seen dates yet but at least we can plan ahead to some degree.

Idabow — sorry we haven’t been of any help with this good question. Guess we just don’t have a lot of “goers” here. I did K-zoo last year and while I’ve enjoyed every trad event I’ve ever attended, most have been smaller state events and the much larger K-zoo of course overwhelms. Best ever was the TBM Expo West when it was held in Ontario, OR. Huge loss for me, as I was just getting started. I’d have a hard time with the camping events like Comptons, since I’m way west and would have to fly. Most state annual gatherings it seems are in March. Only one I’m attending this year is Springfield, IL. Anyhow we weren’t ignoring you. Just a mutual lack of info I guess. Dave

Hi Bill. Here are a few of the dates that I know of. The Traditional Expo in Kalamazoo, MI is January 29-31, 2010. For more information contact Great Northern Bowhunting. The Compton Rendezvous is June 18-20, 2010 and their website is http://www.comptontraditional.com. I believe Cloverdale is the weekend before Compton but I don’t have contact information for that one. Also watch for the Western States Rendezvous. I’m not sure where it is this year, but it’s around Memorial Day Weekend.

The next issue (Feb/Mar 2010) will have a lot of the club shoots and I will post them in the Calendar on this site when I have them. Anyone that knows of an upcoming traditional event can submit a calendar event using this form.

                Hi Bill,

The main one I go to is OJAM–Oklahoma Selfbow Jamboree–held near Stillwater, Ok in March. We do it during spring break so kids can come with their parents.

Here is a link to a slideshow/video I did of last March. OJAM V.

                  Dave, Robin and Dennis,
Thanks for the responses and info., one thing for sure, I never feel ignored on this site as I don’t always get around to responding or reading as quickly as I should either, so no problem folks.
Anyway, it sounds like more specific time and dates of events will be available soon, look forward to the choices. The ones mentioned will be looked at as well. Hope to see ya there!
                  Bill
