Are there any traditional archery shops in the Jefferson City/Columbia, MO area?

          Hey Critch

I did my undergrad at MU, and lived there off and on from 2002 to 2009. There was a sporting goods store called the powder horn, they had a thin selection of trad stuff but that was about it.

While I was there I went to a couple of nontraditional shops and asked…they didn’t know of any and they are locals…oh well…

Must have hit the button twice…BTW, did ya’ll know that our capital is one of only a few in the country that is not served by an interstate highway? You cannot get there from the Bootheel.

Juneau, Alaska is an obvious one, it is impossible to drive to Juneau from anywhere.

I think the list is Carson City, NV, Jefferson City, MO,. Juneau, AL and Honolulu, HI. There may be one more up in New England.

                      Back to archery. I have a hanker’in for a longbow or a short recurve…

I used to own a Browning Nomad recurve, loved that bow. It broke in 1980 and they weren’t making it anymore. I may look at RMS’ selection of used bows.

I’ve lost two old wooden arrows trying to take out Mr. Groundhog..my brother told me to use a shotgun, but it’s kinda fun stalking the little critter.

It’s been awhile since I’ve been down that way but I don’t recall any trad shops in that area. Southern Illinois used to have a few shops. Black Widow is over near Branson.

I’m headed to the Springfield/Branson area in a month or so. I stop at some shops over there.

I work in Springfield and there’s a bit more trad stuff around. We have Grey Ghost Archery and Batson’s Dog and Archery Supply. There’s also Black Widow in Nixa.

If I need something, though, I usually just order it from the Nocking Point. Terry and Sheila will usually have it to me in a couple days.
