For Ozzy Jim, ColMike and the many others here who love to read above the “Me and Joe” level, this link leads to a series of essays in response to the question “Does hunting make us human?” Most writers are hunters, men and women, and a few nonhunters. All provide food for intellectual contemplation and discussion. Flo Shepard is among the contributors, the wonderful 87-year-young ranch lady that ColMike and I recently spent a few days with in WY. Readers are invited to respond on the forum.

Thanks for the link. I’d read some of these awhile back and couldn’t remember where.

Thanks for the direction Dave! Much appreciated. Todd Smith

Thank you, as always, for finding some way to make me think on levels that escape me far too often. Dr. Krall’s commentary was as refreshing as a mountain pool.

Patrick, welcome back! Brother, could I ever argue your argument above! You’re being a literalist. ๐ But I’ve said it all before and too busy being a hunter just now to philosophize. Stick around for a while this time, eh?
Meanwhile, check out my new camo headgear!

I’m only being literal for comedy’s sake. Not to imply anyone else would think it was funny. Don’t take any of it seriously. ๐
I’ve eliminated some time wasting activities, so I should be able to stick around this time. ๐
And I’m loving the headgear!

I actually remember seeing this post a while back and spending a fair whack of time reading from the link… but obviously forgot to reply to the thread ๐ณ
Thanks for sharing this great collection of thoughtful discussions Dave. I’m going to revisit them this weekend to see if there are any I missed last time around.
