        Hello all,
I am starting a new bow project, a laminated longbow. I’ve never built a laminated bow before and I have a few questions for some of the more experienced members here. I was wondering where in bow limb people are placing their tapered laminations. On the belly side, on the back side, in the middle or does it matter? The bow I am making has four laminations, not counting the fiberglass backings, three parallel and one tapered.
        Any ideas would be appreciated.

        Josh

I’ve seen the tapers all through the “stack”. But for me, if the other laminations are all full length, then the easiest place for the laminations is on the belly side, since they won’t need to be butted together…

I don’t think it matters much. Do what is easiest and will make the best looking bow to you.
