Hey all been a lurker/info gatherer for a bit, but…..

        I have just acquired a Staghorn archery , T67 48# re-curve bow

It was in an estate sale , and the owner was no longer around to fill me in on any info about it.

        So my ? is.

Could anyone here help me with the brace height, best type of bow string for it, and what amo (amo 67 ? ) length would be best?

And a good starting brace height.

I dont have a bower yet, but I assume??? Mike Steliga, at bruin would be a good start ?

        here is the bow

Thank you so munch in advance 🙂

Congrats on your new bow . I can’t help on the brace height but will say that it is certainly an attractive bow . Looks to have been well cared for .

The contrast of that beauty against the handsome wood floor is great .

The bow looks to have some age to it ,,,,based on the shape of the shelf , which looks to be flat rather than having a radius .

Welcome to the forum and Best of hunts to you.

I googled the name and found two results for staghorn archery . One is a pro shop in Hilton N.Y. ,,,,the other is the company of the same name , in Irma , Wis.,,,which I believe to be the maker of your bow ,,,I could be wrong though.

I searched around a bit but could find no info on the bow or brace height.

Yeah , I have not had much luck finding much either.

I would love to know the date of the bow , and what type it is.

Would love to find an old catalog.

I just came across this site. Staghorn bows were built by Wm. “Bill” Pyle just outside of Merrill, Wi. back around the 60’s. Bill & wife Ellie started Staghorn near Merrill in 1957 and went through late 70’s. Staghorns were VERY popular back then. They were fast and smooth. I got my 1st one at 14 y/o and am now 66 y/o. Still have a Staghorn. ne year from what I understand the women’s Finnish Olympic team all shot Staghorn in Olympics.

Bill passed away in 2006. I remember him and he & wife were from Finland? Sweden? Somewhere like that. You could bargain with Bill, but his wife was tough to get a bargain. She held solid on prices. Both wonderful people. We were amazed as kids when we went there.

I found some info on google….STAGHORN FOUNDER PASSED AWAY – Stickbow.com’s “LeatherWall

Seemed like back in the 60’s in Wi. you shot a BEAR recurve or a STAGHORN recurve.  Staghorns were faster.

Yes , very interesting and new info for me. I was not familiar with the Staghorn bows. Sorry to hear the founder passed. Sounds like they built a great bow.

                        Scout.
