Somewhere in another thread I offered that I might buy the local library a subscription to Tradbow. The discussion was that perhaps there should be an effort to spread the word on our general intent to live a hunter’s life of ethical, traditional hunting. This, of course, includes a variety of views within those parameters, but there is a general consensus of ethics and methods here.
So, I just got off the phone with the director of the local library, made the suggestion and sent her the link to the site. She said they are always looking for ideas, especially for mens’ magazines. She said she would order it and if I want to make a donation to cover the cost I can, but she’s just glad for a good idea. With the online subscription the magazine can also be shared throughout the county. Pretty cool for a two minute phone call.
All the best to you, dwc

Great idea! I’m going to do the same.

Arroz, cool deal. I already got an email back form the library director that the order has been placed and they’ll start with the February/March issue. Happy Holidays! Dwc

I like a fella that does what he says he’s gonna do. Good Job David.
Some kid that doesn’t even know it yet, is going to have a great adventure. What an interesting example of cause-and-effect. This kid will never know what transpired to get the magazine on that shelf for him/her to see. He probably wont give it a second thought. And years from now this same kid may have a positive impact on the land as a result of this start. And you wont know it either.
Who knows, years from now when you are a gummy old fart trying to hike your britches up enough to hop the creek and explore some new game lands, the opportunity might be thanks to that kid….

Steve, Wojo, Arroz, thanks. When this idea was passed on to me, via that other thread, it was all about spreading what we consider to be a better way.
The other side of this is that by reaching out, not only do the ideas reach more people, but the good folks who work hard to keep this project going, the publisher, Webmom, editors, and contributors, will reach a greater audience for their efforts. Rewards all around.
Merry Christmas to you all! peace, david

David, this is a great idea! I don’t want to take away from anyone’s desire to donate, but I want to add to your generosity. For every subscription you guys donate to a library, we’ll donate a copy of The Traditional Bowhunter’s Handbook to the library as well. I don’t always see every order that goes through, so email me the library’s info or ask Amanda to pass it on to me.
We appreciate all the business you guys send our way. We couldn’t do this without you!
XO,
Webmom

I belong to a fly tying club that has bumper stickers for members. After I had several people waiting for me in parking lots to ask about the club, I wrote the web site address on the bumper stickers. No more people waiting for me. Don’t know how many people have hit the web site because of my bumper sticker. I would GLADLY pay $10 for TRADBOW bumper sticker, just to let people know, and having the web site address wouldn’t hurt.

Hey Grumpy,
We don’t have bumper stickers, but we have a vinyl window decal that we sell, and it’s only $5! It doesn’t have the website address, but I’m sure you’ll figure something out. 😉

Just received a letter from my local library saying thanks for the donation and that The Traditional Bowhunter’s Handbook has already arrived, is being processed and will be on their shelf soon. Thank you TJ & Robin for adding that book to the mix. Very nice. All the best, dwc
